  1. nice truck. always wanted a 300+ in a B model but dont quite have that much cash for a hobby truck. i think he is out of his mind. there is the same old how much you have into it and how much are you gonna get out of it questions again. nice truck. even like the red white and blue
  2. yup. kinda like that early B75. had White Mustang fuel tanks on it and budds. sweet. kinda pissed off at the B model firetrucks popping up lately. six months ago when i bought the Mopar Mack i looked high and low for a good solid B model firetruck!
  3. never seen a B model with a Farr air cleaner. always like the yellow stainless Re Trac (Chevrons) Mirrors on a B model or any truck for that matter from the 50's.
  4. black B model is pretty sharp. always wanted a black B mode. gotta ask, where the hell is everyone getting the old school tube type tires? seem to be alot of restored trucks and B models with the older tube type Goodyear '' Diamond Treads" on the front and the gripper style Goodyears on the back. they havent made those in years and i think are my favorite tread design.
  5. that truck is from Wells Bridge Ny, just south of Oneonta and off Rt88 on Rt 7. use to be really sweet with dual stacks and guy use to work it everyday about 7-8 years ago. i have pictures of it back in the day somewhere. pretty sure its the same truck.
  6. got about 20'' inches here in the Mohawk Valley of Upstate Ny. been plowin since thrusday and just plowed again this am. havent even had time to get the sleds runnin,, been too busy plowin snow at work and cleanin the drive at home.
  7. the were just site trucks in the summertime. they had 3 B models,4 R400's, a few DM400's and 5 DM600's. they were butchers. everything got painted garbage truck white eventually and repowered and cobbed up. we bought 2 out of the 3 B models, the cab off the R 400 and a few parts off the other R400. the 5 DM600's they sold off and the DM400 with scania they scrapped. can only save so much tho. luckily the B models they didnt change the engines. still had the 402's in them. they were real hack jobs. the one B model they took an air chissel to the firewall to put a hole in it rather than adjust the throttle linkage so it wouldnt fit. throw the driverseat away and slide the pass bench seat over for someone to drive on all day. real butchers, i think all their employees hated them.
  8. looks like an amateur restoration . that could be good or bad. bad if its full of bondo over rot. good if they put another coat of paint on her to preserve her. looks like it might have a 401 in it. maybe someone replaced the original gas engine with a newer one? always liked the EQ's and A models. i think i have a soft spot for all old Macks actually except Hinos and Volvos and Midliners. its an addiction.
  9. i have been searchin for one of those grille guards for years. they were only on 65-66 trucks as the pin that held them up use to break, it would swing down and get run over. id kill to have one of those.
  10. looks kinda like this R400 that they repowered with a 671 Detroit and 10 speed Roadranger. Moved the bumper and radiator forward with about 200 flat washers and threaded rod and fiberglassed an extra foot in the hood haha. the twin to it had a V8 Detroit in it mated to the original TRD77 9 speed overgear gas job transmission with the cast exhaust manifolds resting right on the frame rails with straight weed burner pipes on it wiht glass packs. sad thing is they were actually really nice consecutive serial number 1966 R400's. the white one i managed to save the totally rust free site truck cab off of from the scrappers. the red one had the v8 with homemade shutters. i saved the doors and odds and ends, heater, battery boxes and a perfect plastic headliner. i was racing the scrappers as they bought up the whole construction company junk pile but the guy was nice enough to give me the one cab and parts for helpin him load other junk. that headliner is a real bitch to get out when your fighting bees and racing the scrappers . they also scrapped a really solid but cannabilized DM400 with a scania. can only save so much.
  11. exactly, cant stand when you see a truck for sale and the whole hub and lug nuts, wedges and rims are all rattle can black or white paint.
  12. thats a straight 5 with a 4 speed auxillary. a 5 and 4 quadbox would never stand that torque. those are the shiniest ''All Steel'' wheels i have ever seen on the front axle also haha
  13. appears that B75 is in pretty nice shape and also looks like it has a wrecker body on it??
  14. or a Mack mudflap i use to run a white Mack flap with red letters on my 2002 600 Polaris when i got it new. likes to overheat tho cause the flap didnt have the little curl on the bottom to kick the snow back under the track for the head exchangers. looked badass tho haha
  15. mine still doesnt have the recent topics section the top of the page. kinda got use to it
  16. around my area takin pictures Vinny and couldnt stop in to check out the Hemi Mack?
  17. didnt mean to ruffle any feathers Jt. but we all have seen the guys on Tv throw 10 gallons of bondo at a car they dragged out of the weeds, paint it up, drop in a new engine and turn it for big bucks, i admit i watch the auctions on Scottsdale here and there and there are some perfect top notch restorations but there are also junkers there to. burns my ass more than anything to think of all the homeless people starving in this country but yet someone with a big wallet can buy 2 or 3 cars at one of those auctions for 300 grand a piece when the rest of use can barely make ends meet and enjoy our small truck hobby.
  18. think id need to retrofit a turbo on the old 711 for that one, course once i got past Ny and Pa its all flat right til i got to Col;orado anyways haha
  19. rubber duck in the makin. i remember seein that truck on here before. even has the signature White western steering wheel. id like to get my hands on one of those. gonna just paint my black one white i think
  20. just think what those cars are worth today that were scrapped way back then. must have missed something cause people pay stupid money for some of those junk Dodges on those tv auctions. someone drags them out of the weeds, a total rust bucket, drops a Hemi in it and its all of a sudden woth 200 grand in a week. id be curious to see what some of that bondo on tv looks like after a year or two ofm'drawing down'' when they do all that body work, primer and paint it in a week.
  21. always had a soft spot for those C models. kinda like an H model, so ugly they are cute . must have been an in between years truck as they used R and U model air tanks and fuel tanks but B model frames and fenders.
  22. or my computer is being an ass...
  23. ok what happened to the 'Recent Topics' heading on the top of the page? is my computer screwed up or did something change? ususually i just go there to see whats new instead of going to every heading..
  24. yup, waste of money i think. local cheapskate truck owner Tom Logan (Ron Allen Trucking) was braggin he has 7 trucks runnin from New York and Nj, runnin shedded stuff to rochester Ny. only haulin about 4-10 tons on the trailers and makin 15 grand a week per truck. of course im sure he is payin his driver 10 bucks an hour and was braggin they can work 7 days a week and 17 hrs a day but he cuts his drivers off at 14 hrs. says they dont have to pay the tolls on the truway and arent subject to DOT inspections because they are working for FEMA during a ''Tragedy'' go figure. so its ok for gov'ment to say a truck can do that workin for THEM but Joe Blow on his own with a semi bad tire gets a red flag?
