  1. darn, i thought this thread was about a field trip we were all takin to Mike's place.....
  2. the aluminum one on Ebay? i looked it over, am interested but has a torch melt mark in the front lip. id love to find an aluminum hood someday.
  3. didnt O and G have a few V12 361 Brockways?
  4. yup, forgot what he did with the waterpump tho and the allison just isnt cool haha. might need at least a fake stick in there
  5. pretty sure ive seen that Superdog at Macungie in the past
  6. i think the Dt466 might be perfect in a b42 . might even turn the right rpm's so u could keep the original rear end and transmission. wonder about the radiator and fan/water pump tho.
  7. fair??? thats downright outrageous for one of those engines. good runner when tuned good and they are warm but gutless for anything else other than bobtaialing.
  8. always liked the KB's. the cab is ALOT smaller than a B model. you can actuallly roll down the passenger window down from the driver seat like a WC22 White. they made the red and green diamond flathead 6 cyl. depends on what year they are. never thought of a DT466 in one. have thought of repowerin a B42 Mack with a DT466 before tho. could make it a real truck and put a 237 Mack in there like Stan Young did from Maine
  9. that thing definately has an L model full floating rear end with the big hubcaps. the L models had a more 'fancy' lookin hub than a B model. the B models were smoother and didnt have the 'design' on the spokes. also definately had L model springs and hangers with the rubber mounted ends on them.Slso has the U bolts that were flat on top where it went around the spring which were L model unique. So your gonna fix it back up as a wrecker i hope????
  10. ASF was made my Simplex. alot of oil companies and lowboy trucks used them here in upstate Ny back in the day. im sure your talkin about the corrugated fifth wheel plate that the legs bolt to. this was a common part between all the manufacturers of fifth wheels back in the day . Fruehauf, Simplex and Fontaine all used this style fifth wheel place to help with mounting and takin the place of the bolts that bolt the legs on from the bottom up.. doubt youll find a new one tho. they got away from those with the sliding wheel.
  11. pretty sure thats his Brockway in the background as Richie is a Brockway nut. nice guy, done business with him and bought a few engines and transmissions off him. be prepared to haggle about price tho. he is a professional wheeler dealer haha
  12. yup, the more i learn about old Macks the less i think i know sometimes. always scratch your head and find out something new
  13. yup, thats the one i remember from Dennis's place. it has L model rear spring hangers?? those are def L model Mack spring hangers hot rivetted to the frame with the rubber ends on them.
  14. pretty new to have that bumper isnt it? thought they diud away with the old school straight bumper around 73 or so?
  15. im a 711 lover myself. or a 673 turbo but 673t's are rare here in upstate ny.
  16. aluminum air cleaner?? never knew their was such a beast. have seen a few aluminum hoods tho.
  17. that Celli B model looks sweet Trent but didnt you SCRAP it out? haha time to bust your ass like Mike busted mine for scrappin a DM V8
  18. think were talkin two diff trucks. the one that got sent to holland use to be in Cairo ny and was a Ny/Nj tunnel rescue wrecker. the rear end was right behind the cab pretty much so they could turn around in the tunnels with it. it was a B61 . def not a heavy B62sx
  19. that Celli R model is sweet. not a fan of Budd wheels unless they are steel budds but those 5 holes look sweet on that R model. dont think i have ever seen an R model with 5 hole budds. didnt Superdog Mike have an old Celli B model?
  20. i thought it was funny . isnt that what Burt Reynolds said in the Bandit? '' i thought it was funny''
  21. seen quite a few R's and Dm's this past summer. never got any pics. Hanson did alot of painting, i mean paving. they grind the road down, put 1/16 of inch of blacktop back down and new stripes and call it good. dont seem to get to the road that need a lot of work tho. anyways Hanson has a few R models they run that never get washed and they also hire trucks. lots of older R's, even into the 70's. thats about it. rare to ever see a tractor anymore. see a few r models triaxles and dumps runnin around tho yet.
  22. totally agree. NO B model should be painted red inside unless its a firetruck, i cant stand it, also looks to be a 237 but never seen one with the thermodyne style thermostat housing. thought all 237's had the water filter on the front. someone def put a thermodyne water manifold on it. bent stacks are a turn off as well. looks like someone half assed it. obviously was a single axle tractor when new and theres some questions. who stretched it and how bad or good did they do. 10 grand truck in my eyes. sign unseen can leave alot to desire. someone looks like the tried to paint it nice but half ass taped it off. cant stand overspray in the engine compartment. looks to be a lot of loose wires hanging around under the hood as well. wreckers are notorious for wiring splices everywhere. id take a good look at that truck before purchasing. how bad is the rust and cab floor? most wreckers are ran in not so nice weather as well and seldom washed. just my 3 cents. dont wanna discourage you.
  23. this one ran like a chanp but was beat to hell. was a tandem axle tractor originally with a double over quad, double disk clutch and 44 rears with air lockin power divider. must have been nice new. was not much after logger use. had a prentice log loader on it before we bought it. the one with the 237 had the cheap 34 rears with 3 leaf walkin beams i think and they were totally shot, bent twisted housings and the beams half wore thru the trunion. frame was toast as it had been cut and spliced many times and ended up with log bunks on it after the roll off service got rid of it. i went to drain the oil from rears and tranny, pulled plug and nothin came out.
  24. never really cared for the Superliner 1 or 2 bumpers myself. didnt like the Superliner 2 bumper even more. was always more of an angled construction style bumper guy myself. just something about the angled bumper on a Superdog or R model with floaters on the front is badass.
  25. nope, both were faded out red, 68 with the v8 and 69 with the 237 but the 237 was a 74 and came from Levitts dumpster service and had a rolloff on it at one time. the garbaged juices eat everything up and the frame was spliced bad and then used by loggers, you know what happens with loggers.
