  1. must be nice. dont see many R models in New York State runin anymore. the salt and rot and exporters have eaten most of them up.
  2. trust me, these were too far gone. and were used to repower a gas job B model with the 237 and quadbox. rears on the one with 237 were scrap and so was the frame. and cab, so rotted you could have used either cab to sift sand. no windshields or doors for years, no floors. no fenders on the hood. did i mention they came from loggers? ran with NO oil in the rears or transmissions forever. the v8 ran like a champ and Doug got that for a few parts trucks. i still have the camelbacks that went with the V8. the frames on both were so welded and cut and patched and cobbed, they were totally junk so its not like we just cut them up. Remember Mike, cant save them all, and at least the good parts went to save other well deserving trucks. even the 237 was beat. we ended up puttin new heads on it cause the valves were soo worn from the jake brake .
  3. i know something before opening my mouth. id rather drive our 99 F350 regular cab anyday with 230,000 miles on it at work than our loaded lariat extended cab piece of shit 2007 with gutless 6.0 in it. im a GM man. have a soft spot for 53-56 ford pickups alone with the looks of the 60's and 70's fords. have heard both good and bad about the 6.0/ think it depends on what day of the week it was built. it is no comparison the the 7.3 liter at all trust me as we could put a John Deere 450 dozer on a trailer behind the 7.3 and pull it with ease with 230,000 miles on it.. the 6.0 id never think of it. just my opinion, you asked for them, we gave haha
  4. agree. i kinda like that truck. i feel sorry for that little B models. its even my fav colors. id run it rat rod style haha. although im NOT makin the 15 1/5 hour trip in an old B model again to Somerset Pa to get it. and 1000 is kinda cheap.
  5. nice heavy ''Roller Cresci'' dump box. really sweet and nice box. all my great grandfathers B42SX and b62 SX's had Cresci bodies with checkerboard sides. some of them even had the double floors with 2'' oak boards in between the metal for haulin rip rap.
  6. god dunno if i should even post this. i scrapped a DM615 about 8 years ago. fish belly frame that was junk, cab was so shot you there was no floor and we drove it around with the throttle on dash. nothin left of the hood, both fenders gone. had a pretice log loader on it and had about 250 gallons of oil leaked on the frame over the years. was a 1968 864 natural aspirated and 18 speed double over quad. Doug Fetterly has the engine and tranny. trade it to him for another engine and a B43 Mack. still have the 44 rears out of it. dont get upset haha, i dont scrap Macks unless they are too far gone. cant save em all and the parts get used to make others run.
  7. wow B615 single axle tractor. never actually seen one, sweet.i think DJ Smith had one up in Marcellus Ny years ago in the junk pile. id love a big radiator B model someday.
  8. i just searched Mack. came up. has a really funky paint scheme. was just out past Petrowski's place in May actually. we buy and sell equipment and repaint and sometimes take stuff to their auctions or Jack Lyon and Sons auctions
  9. yup, uppers and lowers can still be had from your local Mack dealer. about $100 a set last time i bought some.
  10. have a 6.0 in out 2007 F350 lariat i drive for work everyday. over all a good engine, no problems, just a gutless piece of junk in my eyes. had 121000 on it and just had to put a new computer in it for the injection and have it set up at the dealer for $1800. only other thing we did was put a low oil pressure switch in it. overall a good motor, but gutless, we have a 99 f350 xlt with the 7.3 international engine it it with 230,000 on it. best engine i ever seen . the transmission is a weak spot tho.
  11. thought you got 'new' hogs heads from Rudy after i got the transmission?
  12. im just curious leversole as to why you would wanna change out your elepahnt ear type? jw. maybe i missed the boat haha
  13. nice parts truck, not a project truck, looks like a good driveline and someone changed the rear out. its more like a 55-58 cause its def not a 64. has the old style front brake cans and the old style crossmembers in the frame ands the frame is also red. 64 would have been black underneith. was just in Somerset pickin up my firetruck a few weeks ago. didnt have room or money for 2 tho.
  14. Colonial snad and stone?
  15. was talkin about the Ny/Nj tunnel rescue B model Dennis Meehan had for sale a few years ago
  16. few years from now you wont care what the headboard says young Vinny, as long as you get to look at it a few times a week while doin some ''under cover'' work haha
  17. yup, go on welfare, get a free phone, free health care, free car rides, they even have a bus called the MAX in our county that picks u up for free and takes you shopping or to doc appointments. also might get free cable tv and rent, qualify for heap and food stamps and not have to get up early everyday for work. ah the life. i work everyday, 7 days a week. was sick for over a month, finally culdnt take it and went to the er. has 7 different people ask me the same questions, think i got a bill for all of them, i make too much money to get my medical bill paid and dont qualify for good insurance cause my better half and i arent married. 2 hrs in the Er, they sent me a $3000 bill that I had to pay out of pocket cause they consider me to make TOO much money. what a load of bs
  18. dont we have a ''No info giving until pictures are given rule''???? haha
  19. think both of Doug's Mh's are in the junkpile ouit back. the RS700L was sold, needed a cab i think. nice to see those old pics of his B models. i think he had old man Smith, DJ's father before he passed convert both his B models to budd front wheels as they both had spokes on them originally. think they both have 237's, the B613 has a monoshift and pete air ride i think adapted to the original Mack rear end.
  20. just saw that truck heading up the New York State Thruway last wednesday or so just west of Albany headin west actually.
  21. think id rather the wheels not painted and do them myself. im sure Phil is not like that but a lot of used truck yards just mix some black or white in the gun and pain the whole hub, rims, tire whatever that color and call it good. like alot of the trucks on ebay, spray some fresh shiny black paint on the frame and call it ''restored''. Phil's trucks are a little better quality or instead of giving it the Earl Sheib paintjob, he just leaves it for the new owner i think, not that i dissagree Mike. im all for shiny painted wheels but most guys wanna half ass it and try to sell it. im kinda partial to datons all the way around or at least on the rears. just my preference.
  22. Doug Still has the B75. probably a little dusty. have not seen it out of the barn in a few years.
  23. Doug had a western 1976 Rs700L also. he sold it a few years back and the guy put a new cab on it and repainted it. its now black and silver and alittle red.
  24. anyone know if they make a single inlet paper type thats the short style like the old R model? puttin a 300+ in a 66 r model and right now i have the twin inlet air cleaner on it but the removeable top but its junk. would like to put a hood scoop on it with a single element dry type short air cleaner.
  25. wow is that thing sweet. is that an oil bath air cleaner or paper type??
