  1. the RS612LST52368 i got my 300+ and 10 speed RR out of had the 2 stage air cleaner. i believe the truck was a 1980 and a western. had the ridge down the center of the hood like some of the late R700's had. somone hacked it off and made it a single axle with a pete rear end. the guy drove the whole truck to the junkyyard and got a whole $1800 for it.the cab was shot. we bought the engine and tranny out of it for a grand. come to find out it was a fresh rebuilt 300+. we put it in a 66 R600. had to make mounts for the transmission and use to old R600 radiator as the one out of the R612 was the long western radiator and had different mounts and spring hangers. i would like to put a single outlet air cleaner on it and a hood scoop as the big 2 stage air cleaner just doesnt look right on the cab to me. i like the looks of the old school small oil bath 1966 air cleaner but i assume the 300+ would suck the oil right out of the air cleaner pan so im up in the air about the hood scoop/air cleaner decision.
  2. poor truck, would look better with the 300+ back under the hood and the hood back on.
  3. forgot to mention this truck is a 1974
  4. found it. but not a pic of the driverside with the stack concrete unloader. i assume it was used for that, thats what Mr Fetterly said
  5. was a white R model with a blue frame and an exhaust unloader on the stack i assume for offloadin concrete? at Macungie last year. cant find a pic of it now tho. wish i had an underhood pic as i wanna put a hood scoop on the R model im buildin with a 300+. i have the scoop and ductwork, just dunno where to bolt it as my truck is a 66 and the truck it came off of i assume was a 78 or so , so the radiator was bigger. mine has the smaller b model sized radiator so id like a pic so i ana make a mount for the under hood filter and ductwork.
  6. neighbor of ours had two 70's R600's one had a 237 and 10 speed and the other had the hood scoop, a 300+ with hood scoop and a 10 speed and air starter. i remember that truck growin up. they both got beat to shit and never taken care of. eventually the one with the 300+ got sold when they went out of business and the engine got put in a DM with the cheap dual inlet air cleaner and not the badass hood scoop.
  7. anyone have an underhood picture of the ductwork for the hood scoop? lookin to see where it bolts to. im assuming on the radiator? i have seen the hood scoops twards the front and twards the back of the hood.
  8. i dunno, just looks like they painted the frame with straight enamel and it faded out. 2-3 years is about the limit for pigment in straight enamel
  9. i have a black wheel thats nearly perfect and was thinking about painting. im buildin a 66 R600 and bolted the swing down clutch pedal along with the telescoping steering column and a cable clutch in. suprisingly everything from a 1980 western cab RL600 bolted right up under the dash.
  10. i dont know,i know a few 237 and 18 speed quadboxes driving around and they seem to work fine as long as your not hot rodding it. if you beat it enough the 237 with smoke the clutch. if you found a double disk clutch 18 speed quadbox i think youd be happy. the 237 doesnt have the bigger torque like a 300 plus or 350. the quads and triplexes wont hold up behind those. you will end up splittin 5th gear and most likely busting the case with a little bit of lugging. i know they made TRQ77 series quadboxes that were 20 speed direct and i know i have seen a TRQ72 series that was direct in 5th before.
  11. yea he did tuck down behind that engine rather quickly. i know my fat ass could never do that without knockin it out of gear. anyone have one of those beautiful white steering wheels they wanna part with????????????????
  12. how about the red R model chasing the cop and you see it in the back window but when they go for an outside shot its the old red and white kenworth or peterworth chasin him???
  13. same, Mack and White. would like a set of White ones just to have in the collection
  14. Duck: ''dont ask me, ask them ,im just runnin for my life myself'' Melissa: ''but they're all following you'' Duck: ''no they aint, im just in front''
  15. pretty odd all thru the B model years they only had one recall for aluminum spring caps....
  16. wow, where is that stretched out R700 today??? looks like glitter shifting handles and all. probably came back as a F-ing Prius
  17. i always liked the C models. just like the H models, so ugly you gotta love them
  18. B42P? looks pretty solid except back of cab. def a 56, has the old style bicycle mirrors on it and the fuel tanks without the tread on them yet. those are early. 6 volt i assume? has the smallest weirdest battery box i ever saw. looks like non Mack but never know, could be made for one 6 volt battery.
  19. haha the Dm we have at work has a regular blue big deflector behind the bulldog that someone put on there. when i started at work i was like wtf goo does that do? keep the bugs off the passenger windshield?????
  20. go figure, seems like somehting like that always happens. usually its something thats irreplaceable or a pain in the ass to find a pattern
  21. get that driver window fixed from Springfield Mike?
  22. ok i know we have all watched it 10 bazillion times. was bored and watched it today. noticed at the beginning when dirty lyle pulls them in the bear port, when the camera zooms down twards duck's hammer foot the truck has two brake pedals! at the end of the movie when they are takin off from alverez texas, it has the regular Mack tredle valve and pedal. anyone know if this was a screw up or two brake pedals for some kinda stunt? also noticed when pig pen hits the ice cream truck, when he is tryin to slow down, the door is already layin in the street. and why the hell would the sheriff ''Stacey Love'' be in Texas in that shot chewing on his cigar when he was suppose to be hundreds of miles away in new mexico? just my pet peeves about a 35 year old movie . you watch it 5000 times, you pick up on stuff.
  23. always wanted to paint a B model Mack orange with a tan interior but tan steering wheels for B models are like hens teeth and if you paint one it only wears off unless you put 25 coats of clear on it.
  24. is that a 9 speed overgear main box or a 10 speed direct. with a 9 speed you will probably have a lot of overlapping gears with that brownie and might now offset the roadspeed with the gas rear end. might be better off findin a 4.62 or something closer hogs head.
  25. that thing is sweet. has some nice lookin sheetmetal on it. sure pisses me off to see a nice old Mack last fifty years and some asshole get out a hacksaw and steal the goddamn bulldog.
