  1. theres my truck, second column, fourth pic from the bottom next to my cousins. mine 711 with a triplex and 4.00 gears, his 237 with double over 18 speed and 4.28 gears. had her up to 78mph on the mass pike til we saw the blue lights ahead o us had a car pulled over haha. the Cohenno charcoal gray and red B model was sweet also. talked to him, really nice guy. did the whole truck in bout 7 months. made his ow bumper and get this, his own vent windows out of stainless! made a pattern and formed the channel around it and put new seals in. i told him he had something there!
  2. 402's had flathead 402's in them like B42's. 410's had 413/414's in them. still have a brand new 413 complete in our garage out of my B61 someone repowered. thought the number for a scania was a 411 or 401. not sure.
  3. left around 2 this afternoon. had enough of the rain. rained all the way back to albany ny . had a good time thursday and friday and sorry vinny no u models, was a few DM800SX's tho. the Comforti Dm was also there. seen Mike H once but never got a chance to say hi. kinda sad. did stop and have a few beers with Doug the Outlaw Fetterly tho. was a lot of nice trucks, even a B61 with a factory roadranger owned by Frank Maltesta? from Nj. the movin guy.
  4. Harry had the dark blue H67 right? seen it at Syracuse along with the Roadway H63 both mint. he also had a green B61 i saw at Macungie a few times that was better than factory fresh. Matt
  5. the left pic is the shutterstat. goes into the water jacket and lets air thru when the truck is cold to close the shutters. looks like something went bad and someone unhooked it.. should have an air line going from the pass side firewall to it and another comin from it going to the shutter cylinder on the left side of the horse collar on the front of the truck. the other line looks like it should go to the oil pressure gauge and someone cobbed it up.
  6. i might be interested in the triplex if your willin to sell.
  7. i know in most b models a triplex will bolt right in but a quad with the emergency brake drum wont without the special cab mount crossmember. this can be remedied by adding maxi brakes and removin the e brake off the transmission and it will fit. most b models had the cab mount crossmember reversed and an angle iron sort of bracket off that to bolt the cab to that had the quad in it. i asume C models are about the same
  8. looks like a Roadranger R1110 ten speed. definately a triple countershaft model. last 70's early 80's transmission. just put one in my 66 r600. made custom mounts and everything.
  9. wish i bought about twenty pair years ago from Tidewater mack for $125 a piece. i could retire just sellin them
  10. always liked that bumper. love that rare brown steering wheel. wish i could find a good white one for my R model. seen a few on evilbay lately but i always get outbid. Matt
  11. pretty easy to paint off the truck then reassemble. i usually cut the head off a 3/8 bolt and thread it into one of the fender holes in the caband slip the fender over it then clamp a pair of vise grips on the end to hold the fender on temperarily til i put the rest of bolts in. i also install the inner fender and outer, then the two rivets in the back that hold the two fenders together then bolt the front (black) inner headlite panel to the fender then slip it all on as one piece. put the two top bolts in the inner headlight panel then the back two bolts with the welting, then take off the visegrips and the cut off bolt then install the last 3/8 bolt then the two 5/16 bolts at the bottom of the fender, leave it all loose then install the outer headlight panel. Matt
  12. Town of Little Falls RM on your icon Snowplow77?. i can pick that truck out anwhere. my grandfather worked for them for over 35 years. Matt
  13. thinks i saw an old R model tandelm axle in that video somewhere. must be nice to run some of that old equipment. up her in New York State they must think we are made of money and they wont let you run and antique firetruck thats over 20 years old. Matt
  14. Bob Theimer, long since deceased use to have a single axle superdog he pulled his camper with the the aths shows years ago. got sold at his auction. have never seen it around or know who ended up with it. I know he made his out of a tandem. cant be too many single axles made was there? Mike would know...
  15. leavin thursday am and headed out. its about 2 1/2 hours away. gonna be there thursday thru sunday. so will my radiator screen be carry on luggage Mike? haha joking. hope to meet you guys there. Matt
  16. wow, thats another version of the R model bumper? looks like a modern R model bumper with a top plate on it. the ones i have seen were the old square channel style bumpers from the late 60's with the flat diamond plate on top. i came across a brand new R model bumper from a plow shop. (they threw in jumk pile when the truck was new to put a plow frame on) it has the holes for you to put the chain on the tow hooks but had the holes to mount the bumper straight up and down. maybe it came off a DM? does not have the triangle bolt pattern like most R models. i was gonna weld up the holes and redrill it to fit my 66 R model as the original bumper is junk. also the channel on this one is deeper and the original.
  17. yea i think they been workin on that for like 20 years. its like the PA turnpike, job security lol
  18. yup, i agree. only ever really saw the extended bumper on the smaller R400 version. maybe thats just cause there was a lot of them in upstate ny years ago.
  19. first bench seat i ever seen in an r model and they all have it. guess its more common than i thought? love those long nosed r models. thats on the someday list, along with a B75 with an L or B cab and a superdog
  20. i have seen several R400's that were around 1966 and 1967's that had the flat front bumper like your BCR but had about a 3'' diamond plate on top of it from the factory.
  21. gotta love how some old Macks just look good with Retrac/Chevron mirrors on them. use to see that a lot before around 61 or 62 when back started installin the Delbar mirrow brackets standard on the b models with the bubble back mirrors. kinda odd to see an r model or u model with Retrac mirrors on it. by them Mack pretty much had their standard bracket on everything. like the nice tough spoke wheel look to.
  22. 1500 for that B73? god why cant that be in Ny. would cost another $1800 to get it here.
  23. 59 B613t haulin/savin a 59 B61T from the uneducated scrap men
  24. thats an old Gerosa trailer we hauled out of Cobleskill Ny. lookin for an original set of landin gear for it with the round wheels. someone cobbed a new set on it. still had one and a hald Gerosa mudflaps on it.
  25. its a Mack, it doesnt get stuck. just a little dirty. outlaw Fetterly would be proud of us on that one. no trailer brakes, plates, or lights and two soft tires and hauled it home 30 miles.
