  1. interesting that glass cab has no rain gutters and the back cab corners have been notched out for the fuel tank brackets, I guess it sits lower so they had to notch it? I have also noticed differences in the US made R model cabs as Mack daddy said, some have that body line and some plus 3's dont
  2. slide a little 12 valve Cummins in there. always wanted a little A model with a Cummins
  3. have looked at that truck myself before wondering the same thing. isn't that truck a B87? or is is an 81?
  4. ah, white steering wheel, what a honey
  5. most I have are all damaged in that same spot Larry and have 1 or 2 trucks that have the metal box and not the old cardboard one.dont think it was a b67 thing, maybe just a certain time?
  6. all depends whats on it to and how its mounted, Mack or Volvo with the mounts on the trans and having to jack up the engine, tack on another 3-4 hours. then if it needs a rear main or flywheel resurfaced, tack on a little more,, droppin or having t unhook a pto or hoses or linkage, tack on a little more. up here in upstate ny 2500 sounds fair
  7. how the hell did I miss that?
  8. its all over.brought three trucks in this week, lost wheels, brake drums, everything. seems no one does pre trips or checks their lugnuts anymore. just went and towed this foreigner in yesterday after dot got him. old junk Volvo and really old great dane with side doors. DOT gave him 26 tcickets! we towed back to our shop.guy whipped out cash and paid bill and drove away. everything from log book violations to signal lights out, brakes out of adjustment and the kicker, the clamps for the sliding suspension,.one pair was gone! the industy has gone to shit but,on a good note, stupid and lazy makes me money..... cant tell you how many times weve had a truck come into the shop and the driver either cant speak any English, cant unhook his trailer or cant back up,
  9. Barry are you doing the 12 days of Christmas and the 12 days of specials this year??
  10. few more times backing in and hittin that dock and the load would have almost been all unloaded.....
  11. any ''wedding band'' rings on the axle? usually there are about a half dozen different seals that will work. all depends whats there. sometimes someone puts a 2 piece seal or wedding band on if something is worn on the axle tube
  12. cracked on the middle part beneath the carb? common spot for them. most I have, and have seen have been welded.
  13. I have a back neighbor that turns me in to code enforcement if anything happens sideways in my yard, therefore ALL my buddies know to pee the the lattice work fence onto the neighbors yard...... just says and there is always an extremely high amount of frosty beverages consumed in my garage,,,,,
  14. being a B42 with a401 all you really need is a small Chevy 1 wire alternator also. I converted my B61 over and I don't remember if I ever did anything with the heater and defroster motors. I also used the stock harness as a pattern, replaced all the old wiring with with new wire of the same guage and the old glass fuse panel in the glovebox with a modern one out of a new B model with circuit breakers
  15. nice truck, but with all that long list of goodies, how come no interior or engine or frame shots?
  16. another thing to consider is most all camelback tandems are double frame and the frame is doubled on the inside. this may not be an issue but youd have to use the 1/2 narrower crossmembers from the tandem unless of course your going to air ride. myself I would keep it a tandem cause there are a ton more single axles out there than B61 tandems. tandem axle b61's are kinda scarce. would be unethical to shorten one up in my eyes unless the frame had issues
  17. gotta say, those are two trucks I have never seen before. amazes me at how many shows we all go to and then some old Mack we have never seen pops out of the woodwork. although some seem to make one show season appearance and then they are never to be seen again
  18. what a steal. wish I had room for another and a few grand I didn't have tied up
  19. if I only needed more projects, id probably have this thing....
  20. I like the 24 hour execution idea. saves a lot of tax payer money. these shitbags get treated better than the people on the outside world in prison. tv, internet, gangs, start getting rid of the bottom feeders. save taxpayer money, better world all around, less population of worthless paycheck collectors on the world who don't contribute anything . and by paycheck, I mean the government collected paycheck that use working people have to support.
  21. always had a crush on that truck.....
  22. looks like that orange RD is in need of a driver side kingpin....
  23. i have about 5 or 6 cans of that Maxidyne gold rattle can paint in my garage on a shelf. could never bring myself to use it. went and bought 'Universal gold' at Napa
  24. Went and retrieved one from the Hippies in New Hampshire
  25. i dare say that looks like the same truck even tho I think it has a different visor than on the mag cover
