  1. one just went at the big Mack auction for cough cough $100 bill,,,,, nos
  2. ok now someone has to add a pic of Bill Maverick Golden to this thread now......
  3. makes me sick to my stomach. I have been to tons of auctions, everything I want always goes to stupid prices. went to Saunders redi mix in Syracuse Ny few years ago, stuff went stupid . I didn't go to this auction ON PURPOSE cause I figured the same and way out of my league. have been throwing up in my mouth the last two days since!
  4. up here we have the Rust Cop Shop which rust proofs your vehicle. I know the village does it with all their vehicles and we do it with our tow trucks. we used the Rust cop shop once then last year we had a mobile guy come around and do it. sure makes a mess and don't expect to wash or detail your truck for a while, I know this is nothing like the 'Rusty Jones' or Zbart crap we all used in the 80's . the mobile guy up here uses vegetable oil
  5. and ill ask again, where the hell is everyone getting these new Bias ply drive tires?????
  6. god I hope someone restores that old girl. Looks like a homemade plow frame? most B model plowtrucks I have seen didn't have a front bumper and had Frink snowplow set ups up here
  7. most guys up here in the rust belt New York State just use used ATF. most all out vehicles are junk in a few years to, makes you sick to think of spending 55-60 grand on a new cartruck and have it rotted in 5 years. Ny has the 'bare road policy', cause every moron up here cant drive in the snow
  8. I'm glad to see the 4x4 B42 didn't go dirt cheap. kinda breaks my heart about a few but I guess we cant save them all.
  9. 401 flathead continental if its original. says Mack on block but was Continentals design
  10. yup, I have a B model option book from Mack for a B model, would make you sick, winter fronts, upgraded seats, vent visors, Chrome radiator shells.....
  11. yup, some of these B's still have the original spacers. id start with replacing the spacer, then maybe takin a little off the heel of the wedge with an angle grinder if you have to. you want the angle part of the wedge to hit before the heel bottoms out.
  12. SOB!, must have stopped at a redlight too long in a bad neighborhood......
  13. sure would like that R773 , I have heard the v8 detroits are obsolete and not much demand for them...... there is an abundance of them and no one wants the, so I should be able to get it for less than nothing I'm figuring....
  14. evidently for a snowplow
  15. yea, not exactly, an original Detroit powered Mack is like hens teeth. try finding one that has not been hacked. or frame junk or whatever.
  16. lots of nice trucks there. id like the B424X myself nd maybe a few others B's. the one black and blue ''Bunny" B47 tandem is one of Dave Zsidos old trucks
  17. think I have a Mack boner over that Detroit powered Mack. looks like you could pull start it and drive it home. not much on my Mack R model parts list except I want a white steering wheel and an extended bumper and brackets for an early R
  18. pretty common in the day. we have about 8 of them... goof thing about them is they were good for about 100,000 on a motor, if someone put anpther in it probably another 80 so they weren't as beat and chaffed as the diesel models as they didn't see the mileage and didn't vibrate as much. s if your lookin to make a B61, look for a B42 for sheet metal
  19. I got the stainless version made by I think Lifetime. they were $99 a piece just for the fender, I made my own brackets. have put two sets on my truck, one set had a run in with low trailer and an angled driveway while turnin. don't have that problem usually with 22.5's but I'm runnin 24.5's and you lose a lot of clearance
  20. agree, full fender for a bobtail and believe me, the rocks still find a way around them sometimes and hit the back of cab.
  21. never knew either but I have a 1965 B61LT with a TRD722 and I have a spare TRD722. just when you thought you seen everything.
  22. I get the trophy , the laughing face, the'' I don't know if I can trust this fart'' face, and the blat ass cryin face to choose from....
  23. 517 and 522 used the same 6 bolt flat or domed axle cap. I just know I never seen any 517's after 1961 and ever one that looked like a 517 was a 522 so I figured they updated it like they did the 10 speed duplex. any later duplex I have 65 and up says TRD722 and not TRD72. don't even ask me what the difference is
  24. maybe moved but they definitely aren't where they have been for years...
  25. I pretty much hate the round single letter initials .....
