  1. nope, wasn't me, was only bidding to 600.
  2. been watchin this and biddin on this, glad its posted for all the world to see. love when the exporters bid against me
  3. yup, double disk clutch has a longer imput shaft and a deeper bell housing. and motor mounts are farther back.
  4. the older hoods had the headlight stainless plates bolted in with 6 bolts I believe. the newer ones had a tab that slid in with just two screws. I think the parkin lights next to the headlights ended around 68-69, this one should have exposed shutters also with the side panels
  5. nice would love an R model on real 24'' rubber someday
  6. the ''who-hah'' I know isn't truck related..........
  7. Longhorn truckin here by me has about 15-20 Fitsgerald Pete 379 or 389 gliders... seems they are under the radar, so far
  8. looked at one similar to this one about 5 years ago. fenders were shot, cab floor was rotted, 673 with triplex. offered guy 1800, he laughed, i went to 2500. he wanted 5000, no negotiating. few weeks later, he scrapped it when scrap was worth $80 a ton..... you do the math.
  9. never knew there was a factory branch in Schenectady Ny. been by the one in Albany many times, then they moved to the old railroad station, now to Menands in the old Southworth Cat building. Also i dont think the Utica Ny one was ever a real factory branch. most trucks went through East Syracuse Mack sales then to Utica. that ust have been a long long time ago they were on Genesee street. they were on the south side of the river by where the new Fastrac is in Utica before they moved across the river to the new Marcy location. Funny story, my great grandfather traded into Utica Mack a bunch of building trusses on a brand new B61T mack... those trusses were used to build the new Utica Mack in Marcy. heard a few stories of him trading in my great grandmothers car in on a new B mode, and never tellin her, just takin the car and coming home with a new dump truck....the good old days.
  10. im thinkin thats the B67 Matt Pfahl restored.he did sell those ball ends NOS
  11. i have wondered that myself Mike. also wondered why Mack ever reused the RD letters in the later 90's. RD always stood for heavy duty but towards the end of the R model run they used RD for the sloped hood ugly ones.
  12. true, gotta start somewhere but some people unrealistic starting points. id say that's a 3500 truck but me being a cheap bastard it looks more like 2500 to me. the frame bent isn't really an issue cause if it was mine I would make it a single axle again anyways
  13. right back to the same old bullshit, cause im sure some dirtbag that is gonna shoot up a school or church is gonna take the safety course first.......
  14. unfortunately all the Estes trucks I have seen around here lately have lost their cool colors and gone to 'garbage truck white' with just red wheels and a yellow stripe
  15. kinda rare bumper on that R600 western Mike
  16. it come out.gotta wiggle it back and forth and find the sweet spot Larry
  17. the first turbo 673's were END673T's . they were the 205 hp version. no piston coolers. as a result they experienced alot of problems. the later 673 turbos were ENDT673B and ENDT673C's. i think these were the 225 and 250 versions and i think both had piston coolers. after all these years tho its hard to tell what it what as many engines have been built up with whatever parts were around.
  18. id say between 12 and 14000 lbs
  19. i have made up a plate to bolt to the back of the block in those 4 holes and I drilled 3 holes in it so you can put a bolt thru and change the angle. you don't have to take the motor mount crossmember out of the frame but if you leave the trans in, it sure makes it a lot easier to get the engine back into place and line up the shaft with the motor mount crossmember out of the frame
  20. like everyone else said, at least PUT the tubes in the concrete.you can always hook them up later. we use to install floor heat in new homes we built for a manufacturer. i recall 250 feet being the most you could run in one length before you started heat loss. could be less now.
  21. I bought some 36'' flaps from Watts. they have 3 different sets of holes on the top for mounting different heights so you can use what suits you and cut off the excess flap
  22. i have gone thru my motor a few time and STILL have to reach my hand out the window sometimes and move the wiper to get them to start wiping and not be froze in one position. good thing i dont run in the rain much. electric conversion might be the way to go
  23. neither would be stock on a B model as they never came with them . im guessing for a dump you might need the longer flaps. most state laws say you have to cover 2/3rds of the tire with the flap
  24. gotta say never seen one on an older R model and it looks good. ofcourse the Duck had one but his wasmore of looks for the movie. we do heavy truck Body work where I work and i cant tell ya how much a deer can mess up one of these new POS plastic trucks
  25. actually lookd rough but looks solid and the interior looks to be decent and not all beat to hell. well except for the detroit......
