  1. harry also had a dark blue H67 and a really nice B61T that use to be at Macungie
  2. let us know where it is if you decide not to buy it. id say its worth twice that price but it might backfire and it will show up somewhere for twice the price
  3. those D models had like an elevator lift type cab on them I think. I know where there is one of those LJ or ED or early CH cabovers in a junkyard, no wheels on it, sittin in mud up to the hubcaps, restorable, guy REFUSES to sell it.
  4. I guess if you get bit by the truck bug and have MORE THAN ONE, you can have the best of both worlds. im a fan of restored to original with a few upgrades, im also a fan of Yarnells F model and LF with lanova that just need a good dousing of fuel oil to keep them sweet. I still hope whoever bought the RG Smith B61 didn't ruin its patina.
  5. so much better than the previous owner that had pipe dreams of adopting that R model Mike....
  6. like to have that trailer myself
  7. there is an overnite MB on craigslist somewhere with a single axle lowboy behind it. I know I have seen it in the past week
  8. did Mack ever offer an integral sleeper cab on the LTL series? never seen one, but that doesn't mean it wasn't offered
  9. i know the blue H model spent a few months off rt20 near Esperance/Duanesburg Ny then dissappearer
  10. I was there.. I think Gary or one of his employees landed in a helicopter on the property, bought 4 or 5 trucks and left. I know he got the white ch and put a tank on it and I think he got the intrgral sleeper snub nose E model, cant remember what else. I wanna say the H model went down south.
  11. that white and orange one wouldnt be a bad truck if it had 44s in it and you got rid of the Sagamo. and the orange one..... well lets just say, gotta love road tractor converted dumptrucks, or as i call them truck made to look good for export, complete with white painted wheels and rims.
  12. kinda a shame we dont have a classic country station around me anymore. listened to it for years, now its all syndicated pushed down your throat Nashville garbage. how about a few of my fav's. Guitar Town . Steve Earle, and Six days on the road, Steve Earle's version. Truck Driving Man , Lynyrd Skynyrd Speedball Tucker was also kind a corny funny song by Jim Croce
  13. yup, id find another 6 speed or repair that one. if it only pops out of gear it sounds like it may be just in the rails
  14. onlly filter i have ever seen on one was like they said a Perry water filter and most were cast aluminum and didnt survive. some were mounted to the frame on driverside and some were mounted to the intake manifold
  15. have used the ether trick in the past myself. place I work now has a cage but we never use it. we do service work and are usually mounting tireson the side of I90. usually flip the rim over , stem facing down, long chuck with long hose. we use a cheetah or cheeter tank also to get the bead seated. we run across a lot of Chinese garbage 19.5's 22.5s and 24.5 now a days to. they are the worse bastard to mount. the money saved is not worth it as you fight your ass off mounting them especially the 19.5's.
  16. all the B42's had the firewall starter button til about 1964 til Mack went to the key switch starter option and did away with the push button.it was so you could ''fluff'' the gas pedal while pushing the starter button. they all had a hole plus in the hole in the dash. the bigger overhead valve gas engine trucks used the push button on the dash like a B61 and had a huge solenoid mounted on the firewall. very few gas engine B models had a tach. even the bigger overhead valve ones, few had a tach. we have a few B42's in out fleet that do have a tach tho.
  17. god look at the fuel oil truck and that hill. and some of these guys think they have to pull a hose a long ways today!
  18. looks like IH paystar fenders to me...
  19. yup, done that to mine to, exact same thing. I used sheetmetal tho and drilled holes in it.
  20. been lookin for a set of green lenses for kd517's myself for a while. no luck
  21. ask Superdog how that Limit on the wallet and truck buying thing works out and get back to us....
  22. end707 with fire rings and maxidyne head gaskets, 15 speed triplex and a 4.00 hogs head on 11 24.5 rubber = 75mph+. falls on its face tryin to pull a trailer anymore but its retired. Adirondakmack's B68 with a 237, double over 18 speed quad and 4.28 gears on 11 24.5 rubber will go 85+... ask him how he knows...
  23. every R model lund visor I have seen with the brace is always spider cracked around the hole for the brace. its a no win situation. I didn't put the brace on my B model lund visor cause I didn't wanna drill thru the windshield rubber. it does vibrate a little in the wind at 75+ mph.......
  24. split rims are buds, as in old school two piece dangerous rims that are hot riveted usually and split around the whole middle. 8.25, 9.00 and 10.00 and 10.22's all had two or three piece rims where as there is a rim and then an outside lock ring that goes over and sometimes a safety lock ring on that. I believe the 3rd ring was trademarked as a Goodyear or Firestone 'safety ring'. I did hear years ago when they were common that only the 3 piece rims were legal on steer axles. dunno how true this is.
