  1. bring back the 7.3...... after that I have not heard too many good stories about Ford turbo diesels...
  2. yup try adjusting the valves. does it have a Jake? if it sounds like the Jake is stuck on , 237's and 300's were known for wearing the valve guides out from excessive Jake use and it sounds like the Jake is stuck on at idle or when you let off it.
  3. 25 years old for Historic plates in Ny. I believe it HAS to be over 25 before they let you register it historic to meanin you have to wait til its actually 26 years old.
  4. front where brake switch is so it wont lock the front brakes in a skid on wet roads. the truck tractor protection is for airing up and releasing the brakes when you pull a trailer
  5. alot of B models had that same universal style like on yours back in the early 50's. I think they might have been Grote brand actually
  6. id check the muffler/exhaust port on the motor, its usually full of gunk. looks like wrong motor to me anyways, looks like it belongs on an old White, not a B model. Should still probably sell that junk B75 to me anyways......
  7. ah that'll just drive right out of there, and he'll have to change his shorts after
  8. i miss the days when B's were $250 bucks. and call me a purist but I hate when someone takes a nice stock original tractor like that and takes the 5th wheel off and puts a flat bed off. to register a tractor in Ny for your own use with historic plates only costs $32.00 a year plus about $115 insurance. its if you register it commercial to make money and haul everyone elses stuff is where they rape you. haulin your own stuff your good. I think the price of that truck is still a grand or two high. id probably just wash it down and clear coat it. plenty of shiny ones out there and as soon as you paint it nice, you scratch it.
  9. too bad I have plans that day and im broke ha. I like the yellow L model myself . almost looks like that red LJSWX with the green box could be an old Gull Contracting truck
  10. I have ground down the welds, cut the end caps off many B model tanks, sandblasted them and coated them with Red Kote lining and welded the end caps back on then air tested. not hard just time consuming
  11. yup pricey. the Delbar style was the later style with the curved top, like the one Watts sells. the early style was really heavy and had the curved front that went half way down the A pillar of the door.
  12. Most Americans don't give a f*ck if its Denali or McKinley, we are more concerned why you need to waste our tax dollars on such minute bullshit rather than worrying about real problems in the US....
  13. there were a few different styles. the older trucks from about 56-59 had a really rounded heavy bracket . most B models didn't come with mirrors and were dealer installed so they got generic brackets. then around late 1961 they started comin stock from the factory with the Delbar style bracket in mostly black but a few were stainless.
  14. I notice that to. belongs to the Nuss family I think along with the big tandem water truck that I think is Gary Mahans. these were side by side at York. seems both were welded in all the same spots, frame, spring hangers.
  15. any of you guys that are good at photo shop willin to take a picture of my truck and change the colors to orange? mapping out putting another B model together and wanna paint it orange and im at a loss whether to paint the frame black or orange and the hood black or orange or paint everything orange or maybe the frame black with orange wheels and all the sheet metal orange. and curious what it would look like .

  16. black lives only matter when it benefits them..... just like last week in Troy Ny near Albany. two cops shop by by BLACK men while they were stealin a car. my thought is the cops probably second guessed themselves about shooting the suspect because of the repercussions and that gave the black guys time to shoot them....
  17. kinda shame to see that LJ#1 sittin outside after seeing pictures of it for years. isn't that the Worchester Mack wrecker?
  18. smaller gas jobs and the B models with power steering usually had a 1'' shaft. all the rest I think had an 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 shaft, I forget but the newer ones will interchange with it as long as its splined.
  19. Dave Sheldon in Norwich Ny has or had the twin to this truck. his was a 53 or 54 and had a dump box on it. B30 with the double drive shafts. ill dig up a pic
  20. wow, nice. 1st time I ever saw those welded on checker board fuel tanks was last year on an early B. long before someone decided to strap them on there with bands. I assume this truck also has ''spaghetti drive'' rears? ones where it doesn't go thru a power divider? has two seperate drive shafts for the rears. the early smaller gas trucks did .
  21. being it has a 673turbo it should be an older style TR72 series transmission. hard to tell by pictures but it looks like a two way
  22. both green dashes to, those are getting scarce
  23. I agree, put him in front of a firing squad, but start shooting his fingers and toes off first, then hands, feet, ears, nose......
  24. they finally paved out street after milling it 4 weeks ago. finally got a few pics of my favorite two blacktop haulers. these guys work for Hanson aggregate and these trucks are only run in the summer hauling blacktop I think. the guy with the orange RD use to have an orange Superdog that was immaculant that he traded in for the RD the RD is called ''Horney Orange''. the Superdog is a 1990. forget the specs but these guys spotted my B in the driveway and came over and talked my ear off while they waited for the paver.
  25. yup, taller ones with about 1'' lines is the full flow. if its low on oil pressure might wanna check the air compressor. if it takes forever to build air its junk and is acting like an oil pump, takin down the oil pressure and pumping the oil right into the air tank
