  1. new Mack green is Ppg code 40496. I know the B's were a little darker shade but no one has ever really came up with that code.
  2. not a fan of Macks on pickup chassis but that one looks pretty perfect. wonder if they used a whole new drivetrain or just different axles on the original Mack frame?
  3. must be auction week. we had our auction at work yesterday. liquidated about everything. 82 R686 with new Remack 300, 9 speed roadranger and 38's on camelback with a really bad double frame brought 11,500. 72 Dm with a new 237, 6 speed low hole and 44 rears with a new Beaurock brought 9500. I thought both went high. DM went local. dunno who bought the R. pretty sure exporters didn't get either tho.
  4. agree Jim, I thought it was/is Pat's old truck???
  5. imagine that.... I put new wheel bearings in the front of my 04 Silverado about every second oil change. what garbage. doesn't matter if you tighten the axle nut to spec or you buy the north or south chineese bearing, they are still all junk. I have actually taken them apart by prying off the wheel sensor cover and coil and what a surprise, about an eyedropper full of grease inside. I guess it would kill them to put a grease zerk and breather on the damn thing.
  6. im not gentle with any ''questions'' anymore. hade enough bullshit and sick of people in general. im not tiptoeing around any seller or kissin ass. I say it how is is, if you don't like it, you can kiss mine. if you wanna sell something , put a decent description, pictures, and don't be an asshole.
  7. top o hill still doin headliners and wiring harnesses? wiring harness was nice, headliner left a lot to be desired, was more of a pain to try to put in than Lancasters.
  8. gotta love it. was talkin to a guy today that plows for NYS dot. said the new Granites are nothing but junk with all the emission crap on them. said the new batch they just got are even worse as they are automatics, said the one he drives lost a cylinder with 60,000 miles on it, said with the emission crap on them it melted the cups of the injectors off. said they work on them non stop and to top it off your in the middle of a snow blizzard and the junk wants to regen. or the ''pickle juice'' tank sensor light will come on, it will derate itself, you check the tank and its full and something freezes up and the computer cant overcome it.said the truck he drives is a 2010 and is on its 3rd oil pan in 5 years. the new batch of automatics have stainless lines to the cooler except for STEEL fittings that go into the trans. he said after 2 years in service in NY salt, the fittings rot off, lose all the fluid and fries the converter. when they called Mack about this simple issue, they were told ''they should have speced trucks for the northern climate'' the main mechanic goes, ''well we sure as hell aren't plowing snow in Florida!''
  9. and Matt pays pretty reasonable prices for trucks ,last I talked to him. ..
  10. thats a breakup that never should have happened but then again, you cant fix stupid. haha
  11. odd looking fenders on that one. were the R800's still available when they went to the ugly slope nose on the R600 models and made them all RD's after??
  12. could ship it back north to Ny, id give it some good livin and would never part with it...
  13. Lancaster County Upholstery sells the headliner kit, around $200 it use to be for the kit. overpriced for what it is but it sure finishes it off a little better
  14. that weinermobile must get around... it was at the mall in Albany Ny on Saturday.....
  15. Mack sells brand new 2 1/2 inch female thread caps. the new ones are vented to.
  16. that old B model dump truck is still behind Hudons?? think it was a B613SX. was a brute. had a b81 front axle under it. haven't seen it in years
  17. nice work Larry. also nice to see the Gravy Train is still alive and well. have not seen it in years
  18. so where are they Vinster? D F's yard??
  19. wow that red one with the angled bumper, fender flares, outside air cleaner and floaters on the front looks rugged as hell..
  20. I believe John Mauro owned them? think he still might own the a car? not sure. that pic I had was taken in the early 90's at the hotel by Macungie. I remember talkin to him and he said he missed the turn and had to turn the old girl around in a gas station parkin lot and traffic wouldn't give him the time of day and it had no power steering
  21. agree. most are using R model boxes. might have the drill the holes out to 5/8 as the R model boxes are and the B models were 1/2 or I guess you could just 1/2 bolts . I made angle iron brackets for mine and bolted them on from the side to get around the extra air tank i put on the side. Tidewater Mack use to have a stockpile of B model ones back in the day but i think Matt Pfahl finally ended up with them.
  22. might wanna throw that CDB Saddle Tramp and Fire on the Mountain Cd in the ole player while your at it, and maybe hide the BeeGees one??
  23. agree. we would like the code. might be good for those touch ups. don't know any Napas near me that mix in aerosol cans tho
