  1. R600 emblems have seemed to went extinct lately. lookin for a good one mysef
  2. compound is stuck in more than one gear or between two most likely. they do this when they get wore a lil. you could gently pry on the rails , you might have to unbolt the lever off the box to let it move. the shutters uually require a little more action. PB Blaster is the best, they might free up, or you might have to take them totally apart. they are steel rod ends that go thru an aluminum retainer bar, and we all know how they hate each other.
  3. been to many of Alex's auctions, he doesn't waster any time. usually twards the end he gets tired and things go cheap and quick. wish I had unlimited funds. only about an hour away from me. Im sure the Mahan crowd will be present which is always nice. they keep some of those really rare ones from the scappers
  4. he will probably wait, then scrap it for $1500 after he gets disgusted
  5. West Windfield Ny eh? small world
  6. I had my good clothes on! haha. no alcohol involved there, but might have had a few too many up to the St Lawrence River.... had a slight headache today, damn Patron....
  7. looks good. did you cover the old cardboard or make your own pleated one?
  8. the axle looks like a Fruehauf with those torsion bars and the Reyco style spring hangers. the landing gears looks like Galion or Trailmobile tho.
  9. made one of those gladhands up myself and carry it in my B model. has come in handy.
  10. think my grandfather had ya beat. he had one on the junction block on the pass side of the firewall of his B model in the 60's haha. every truck should have one, especially for airin up to release the brakes if you have a a really stinky Diesel
  11. most Mack engines were a Robin egg blue. Detroit green is too dark but that's what I used on mine. Duplicolor Universal gold is close to Maxidyne gold
  12. I know there is a sleeper cab B model around Syracuse Ny that has the horizontal shutters in it. not sure if its factory or not but it has them. Bob Gardineer or something maybe???? I know his last name is Gardineer. this truck has a newer top mounted Mack rear end with air ride in It also. its a single axle. it has been at the Longbranch Park Show
  13. Happy Birthday guys, and gals, besides me, enjoying a cold Long Island iced tea at the moment........ baby of the bunch?? haha thanks
  14. yup ''Protect and Serve'' seems to have changed to ''Stalk and Harass''. They should start putting that on the fenders now a days
  15. Mike, you might just wanna remind him how many old Macks YOU drove with NO Ac......?????? My grandfather says the old B models were the worst when they got a few years old and the cab insulation started to break down. said he drove a B62SX on construction with a 464 and quadbox that thy mounted a thermometer to the dash. says 138 degrees in that truck on a hot summer day was cool....
  16. agree 100% seems the workin class people are the idiots now a days. we all bust our ass so everyone can be ''equal'' in asshole Obama's mind. Life is simple, the more you work, the more you have, you try to steal my shit, you might get your fingers cut off, nose broke or shot. seems to be the same with the ''Police State of New York'' damn cop or deputy around every corner hawking for the workin class guy to get out of work and pull him over 3 miles over the speed limit cause he is in a hurry to get home to see his kids and have a cold beer, or 10 after slaving in the 90 degree heat for 9+ hours so everyone else doesn't have to work.
  17. haha not a stupid ques. most smaller gas job B models B20, B30 and B42 had the ''farm tractor style'' starter button on top of the throttle pedal on the firewall, think it as something to do with giving it al ittle throttle while cranking.....
  18. I believe Ny honors out of state titles also
  19. guess that's the one thing Ny has not screwed up yet. no titles required for vehicles older than 1974. all they require is a vin etching with a pencil and they do a search to make sure there is no back Truck Mileage Tax owed on it, fill out a few papers and they give you Historical plates and your good to go.
  20. I think Ny and upstate Ny have some of the worst roads I have ever driven on. their best road is about the same as Pa's worst road. and to top it off the lady idiots are getting worse. they don't ditch like they should, so the water lies on the road and makes it worse and they have brand new 200,000 tractors to mow the sides of the road but they mow about 3'' of grass with it so the deer are grazing on the white line half the time. my rant...
  21. wow who would have thought you could find two brand new Fruehauf bathtubs at least 25 years after they were probably made. maybe there is hope to find a new B model out there somewhere....
  22. pretty hard to believe any small gas job B model could have more than 150,000 on them period. the small flathead gas engines were only good for about 80,000 before a rebuild and that's if you babied them. that's the reason why the sheet metal is usually so good on them. the diesels I have seen a few 61's with over 2 million miles on them. think mine had 1,400,000 on it actually . she should have given you a break. like they said, they got their money the first time around
  23. the paint on the Hagar Granite is the same exact colors Rifenburg Material/Construction use to use here in Upstate Ny. all there RS600's and Rd's use to be nice colors but not much for service. sadly they are all solid red or white now a days.
