  1. agree Mike, ditch the wheel covers haha.
  2. snap the points and stick her in 3rd gear and drag her around with a fresh can of gas in the cab and a cheap hose connected to the fuel pump. she might surprise you and take right off.
  3. exactly why your better off finding a B20, B30,B42 for the sheetmetal and a B61/B53 for the driveline if you intend to drive it far. the smaller gas jobs didn't see much over the road. they were delivery trucks and site construction trucks and didn't see the road salt.
  4. power divider lock? always best to engage it when the wheels are not spinning otherwise bad stuff can happen.
  5. im guessin you probably need wheel cyliners. they go bad in a hydraulic system from setting around,. the air tank is actually a vacuum tank. shouldn't be used as an air tank because it is not as thick . the big canister is the hydrovac. kinda like a modern brake booster, helps the brakin along. even if the hydrovac is bad , you still should have a little bit of brakes and resistence. put some fluid in the reservoir under the floor and bleed it, im sure you probably have a bad wheel cylinder.the hydrovac gets vacume off the exhaust manifold. usually had a 5/8 copper line plumbed into the hole In the manifold back to the ''air tank''. the hand brake is only on the driveshaft. its used only for parking and emergencies. if you pull it and it doesn't do anything im guessin someone left it on and wore out th lining on the e brake. there are places that will reline these or abou $100 to 150 or so.
  6. isn't society as a whole like that now a days? seems every little punk ass kid I see 17-25 thinks they are smarter than everyone, they have absolutely no respect for anyone or anyone elses property, no respect for their vehicles, they cant take the blame, think they should start out at the top, don't have to work for anything, most is handed to them and most never get a chance to bust their ass or smash their finger with a hammer or get rust in their eyes or hot grinding or welding sparks down their shirt or boot.....
  7. that single axle R looks like it belongs in the same yard as the one superdog Mike posted a few weeks back missin half the cab...
  8. yup, cant help it..
  9. pretty nice 70's interior in her. check out that console, looks like an R model heater in the center to and maybe a monoshift with a brownie box? def not a Mack diesel engine tho.....
  10. and have class, and color.... god forbid we have that
  11. that's a 401 in there. don't think that was an option in those, pretty sure they had 331 or 354's or something. probably a repower from a B42
  12. there was a few on the road around me Vinny the last few years, guys got rid of them tho, couldn't keep them runnin 2 days a week let alone 5 or 6
  13. i spotted that truck a few weeks ago on ebay. kinda have a soft spot for it for some reason and looks well worth the 4500
  14. top load Mack rears most likely. believe only the early small B models B30 and b42's had the front mounted rears ends and a thru shaft in the front one going to the back. I don't think the A models used this
  15. I have an eye for those things Al haha. my 66 R model I just put the 300+ and 10 speed RR in ended up with the stick comin up right in the middle of the two floor boards. I just cut the brace out a little with a sawsall and will doll it upwith some weldin underneither when I restore it. just mockin it all up now. I have the original duplex out of it and it has the bent sticks comin out under the heater. many variable I believe. some had a double disk clutch which moved the levers back also. I think some Roadrangers had an offset shiftin tower to? our 82 at work has this and the lever bent forward to clear the brace in floor. this is an 82 tho and the cab sits a little higher than the 66.
  16. most likely had 38,000 camelback rears in it from the factory. im guessin 7.49 or so ratio since its a gas job
  17. that B30 is nice. actually looks like it has standard Mack 34000 camelbacks but has the early vertical housings wih ''Spaghetti Drive'' and has a separate driveshaft runnin to both rears. maybe not but most ealy B30's I have seen have this.
  18. our 82 at work has the trim ring bezel. always wondered that myself
  19. my favorite line from a seller....''I hate to scrap it'''
  20. nice been tryin to add one of those to my collection but they always go for gold price when they are on Ebay
  21. yup, classic look to Al. where did they all go? seems weird that EVERY one of them got exported....
  22. they had 464's originally. they were a brute in the mud and could outpull a B61 all day long
  23. you can buy a brand new cap right from Mack for about $35 bucks. the new one is even vented. I have the part number somewhere
  24. just think how youd feel when you get the nice shiney stainless fender on the back of your B model caught up in the neck of a lowboy and smash it all to hell....(whistling)
  25. i dunno, kinda like the red myself. always like the looks of an older R with the black fender welting to, use to be popular back in the 80's when guys put floaters on he front
