  1. some B61sx's and B81sx's along with Rd600sx's had 22'' hubs in the back and 24's on the front. not really sure of the reason for this. maybe so they go thru the mud better???
  2. 1953 Lacrosse. its friend of mines and its lived a hard life I can tell ya that
  3. haha even some of the 1/43's are outrageous. I have been wanting the little yellow B61 dump truck forever but the prices seem to always to high.took me 3 years to get ahold of the Texaco 1/43 B61 tanker
  4. 1956 opencab Fire truck. one of 33 built for the Navy with a 354 ci Hemi in it. this is #31. runs and yard drives, need a valve job. has rebuilt carb. sheet metal is in excellent condtion, needs minor repair of floor under pass seat where someone left battery Budd wheels. comes with 2 tubeless radial rims. 315 868 3173
  5. did go by Pauls booth, wasn't him I was complaining about. just a few others that didn't seem to wanna budge on prices haha
  6. that Black Superdog is set up like a lot of the ones that use to run Upstate Ny also. there is a few nice ones left that only run in the summer hauling blacktop and other so they don't see any salt.
  7. spotted that last night also Al! I have a hard time justifying the price for matchboxes tho and other 1/64th scales
  8. next it will be some wannabee 'trucker' in a one ton dodge or Ford super junk with big stacks pulling a gooseneck trailer , overloaded and the media will have a field day yet again
  9. drove down from Ny for the second time. last year was by far better. most of the stuff I saw was way overpriced for what it was. actually makes my stuff worth more money I guess. you guys are right, NOONE would budge on prices. im not lookin to steal something but jesus work with someone a little.spent less than an hour walkin around and drove 3 blocks to the Allentown Brewery and had a better time.
  10. sad to hear this. of course the media is gonna go after the truck driver. kinda like the guy that got arrested here locally for child porn, JUST happened to be a firefighter. gee what do you think the news reports? FIFEFIGHTER arrested for CHILD PORN.
  11. earliest I have seen was a 1937 and I know they made them before that
  12. Clean B81?? wtf. you had a clean B81 and sold the poor girl
  13. yup. either way if you plan on going the 673,711,237 route. better find yourself a doner B61 for the mounts, radiator and other misc parts.
  14. nice truck. those older DM's just don't look right without floaters on the front tho..
  15. B42's had Trd77's, not Trd67's. Mack used three different transmissions. the 77 they had 9, 10, 14, 18 and 20 speeds. the 67 series they only had 9 speed overgears,10 speed directs, and 10 speed overgears. you could get a B50 or B60 series wit either a 67 or a 72 but if you wanted a triplex or a quad you had to go with the 72 series. if you stick with a replacement engine that turns around 3000 rpm you can leave the rear end gears alone as long as you don't put something in there with too much torque for the transmission. I know its a bad word but I think an 8.2 litre Detroit would be a good swap and they were in tons of school busses over the years and might even have an air compressor.
  16. turned a lot of heads. especially the few that were stuck behind at 35mph on a few hills! oh well. I can say one thing, it sure does shift like butter with a little drag on the ass.
  17. we have also tossed around the idea of a small cummins repower for a B42. the 401 has a #3 bellhousing I believe. air compressors are not really an issue. can always add abelt driven one. the only issue you might have is water pump shaft length. might have to cut the shaft off and use a hot rod style fan mounted to the radiator.
  18. anyone can donate to my cause of collecting and retoring trucks anytime they want haha. anyone need the address?
  19. buddy of mine bought this trailer and needed it unloaded and delivered about 30 miles round trip. ended up having to huge lathes in the back that needed unloading at a machine shop the guy owned. think they weighed in at about 15,000 lbs plus the the trailer with a lift gate. made the old girl work a little bit and used all 15 gears I can tell ya that.
  20. they are the same as an R model guys. Mack still/did carry them. they use to be about $20 a piece. im thinkin they are around $40 a piece now
  21. Bartnicks made their own boom. the side and rounded front they had made at Utica Boiler. they had another B model with the same one but a little smaller and my cousin just bought a B model that someone copied Bartnicks to make.
  22. that Cardi B61 is nice. prefect barn find survivor. too bad someone backed into it and stole the damn bulldog
  23. heres a Ny Mack. Bartnicks Towing, Utica Ny. a pic from back in the day, and a more recent pic after we bought it and someone painted it waste management purple, ugh!
  24. Kscrable is right, the 7 cans I have all have that part number and all say 348 Maxidyne Gold on them
  25. just finished repainting a jeep wrangler for a buddy of mine. painted it bright orange with Magnet paints. he wanted it textured so he can take It off road. its nice stuff but you about need a fresh air system to spray it, its nasty stuff. think he paid 150 a gallon for paint, hardener and color. it doesn't go far when your sprayin it with a Shutz gun for texture but it its tough stuff when cured. id never paint anything but the inside of a dump box with Rustoleum. its straight enamel and will fade right out and get chalky within 6 months, especially red, not worth the time you spent in sanding. any red you put on now a days should b clear coated anyways if you want it to last. do yourself a favor and at least guy acrylic enamel and put a clear over it, you will be happy you did. if you wanna go a step up get some acrylic urethane.
