  1. too bad its 3000 miles away!
  2. funny thing about this, when Bob Daub was still sellin parts for b models he made a comment on how nobody ordered any front springs from him ever even tho he had brand new ones for about $350..... his next comment was unless you guys start buyin these, there wont be any 15 years from now... ugh!
  3. Barry has the original style wings gauges. also Stewart Warner still carries them or they are available on ebay. BCR Al on here has the correct paint code for the earlier R models . its a GM color match, no metallic at all. think its GM code 503 Dupont.Centari. the 65-70 R models with the Corvette dash were a mint green color, 70-72 had a nasty olive drab color usually.
  4. wow lets not get started on wood. try fixing something around your 100 year old house and go to the lumber store to get a piece of 3/4 or 1/2 plywood. that will piss you off. when it ends up being 1/8 smaller and is usually in the form of 17/65ths or some weird shit
  5. actually just took mine apart last weekend Larry. when i rebuilt it I put the axle and springs out of a dump truck in it. FA522 as I couldn't find a Fa517 axle for the life of me. anyways this axle has 14 leaves in the spring packs and most B61 Single axles came with 11. I took the springs out, new U bolts and center bolts and took out two leaves on each side. maybe it will ride a little better, maybe. it might be easier for you to take the 4 , 1/2 inch bolts out of the front spring cap and let it down or jack truck up. this way it will take tension off the back pin and it will come out easier. usually have t put a small bottle jack between the frame and top of springs and jack the spring down a little and a jack underneath to get the rubber insulator back in the front hanger just right. usually takes me 2/3 tries. I usually spray it with a little PB so the rubber slides back in the case easier.
  6. endt673c and b engines are about impossible to find now a days. at least save the engine. they weren't as common as a 675, 237
  7. red, orange, yellow, gold and any of the pearl paints are expensive. also any paint code with an ''Y'' in it use to be expensive
  8. she was lookin a little sharper 10 years ago. kinda wondered where this truck ended up. its one of those ones you saw once at a show and never again
  9. wow Makes you wonder. I have picture of that truck at Macungie about 10 years ago and it was lookin a little sweeter. wonder how it made it to Nv and now they want it back to Ny and it was in Pa about 10 years ago.....
  10. that Rd had to have at least a 23,000 rear in it. no way an Rd would have anything less than a 23 in it. looks like a good solid no rust Ford but my grandfather says you trade anything for a Mack and your going backwards.......
  11. yup flange bolts or step up bolts. make sure you spend the extra money and get the exact size drill bit for the step up bolt. the old timers use to replace the 5/8ths rivets with 3/4 bolts when reinstalling the cab mount crossmember, I have seen this done also not really much benefit to it tho.
  12. I gave up on Fastenal. went there a few times for FINE thread 5/8's bolts. the asshole behind the counter couldn't find it in the computer. told me it must be metric and he couldn't get it, iw walked out....
  13. I dunno,, just seems like I have seen more B67's with the fenders welded and bondoed together for some reason.
  14. looks like 3 of those leaves were broken to begin with and the last one was the straw
  15. never dealt with Grainger much but I swear by Mcmaster. these guys are right, they are cheaper and their stuff is high quality and mostly usa made. and I usually have anything I want within the next day or 2
  16. im kinda more happy to see a B67 finally that someone didn't cob/weld/bondo the fenders to the headlight panels. looks like a pretty clean truck.
  17. great. more small penis guys at stoplights burping out clouds of black smoke and makin a lot of noise and turning to see who looks at them. after turning as many wrenches on out 99 7.3 with 350,000 miles on it at work and our junk 2007 with a .6.0 and 115,000 miles and a $6000 dollar a year repair bill you couldn't pay me enough to buy a new Ford Super Junk
  18. I looked at all of the restoration pictures the other nite on Gallo Restorations site. this truck is really nice and the guy is really handy with a welder!
  19. that truck originally was bought from Nj and had a tow body on it, somehow ended up in Dallas Tx. it had an excellent cab and frame and budds and a power tower I think? someone cobbled that 707 in it out of a firetruck tho.
  20. few more. somewhere along 59-60 the 1/4 holes for air and wire clips got moved from the top and bottom of the rail to the center or vise versa. you can see the 1/4 stainless bolts in my frame
  21. took some pictures for you. most of my holes are original. some might be drilled out to 5/8 from 1/2 but they are 98% original
  22. Ford did the same thing on some Super duty's from 99-2007 to. rip your hair out when you think its metric and its standard. John deere does the same thing on equipment also. they always mix metric and sae fasteners
  23. small world.....what happened to the LF? use the cab for another project? the cab and frame on that thin were excellent.
  24. I think I have a picture of that red rollback I think somewhere. believe that guy bought an LF off us years ago. ill have to see if its the same truck. I know it went to Mass and he loaded in on top of a cut off roll off container like that and cruised right down the NY thruway at 13'6'' exactly!
  25. DailyDiesel,I believe there was more to that story about the scrap trailer that nobody knows. it was loaded at the scrapyard and they pounded the load down repeatitly with the grapple to get more in and compact the load.. some say they cracked the fifth wheel by doin this and that is why it came unhooked, killing a family on 81. I know back in the 60's my grandfather hated Holland fifth wheels for this reason, had more than one crack down the center and the trailer come unhooked
