  1. never seen a B42 with a 67 series transmission. they all had 77 series in them. looks like a nice solid truck actually. too bad its not 500 miles north
  2. heard many of stories about those Hertz ''Rent a racers'' they us to call them, many got returned without the right engine in them as I hear also.
  3. seems a lot of the trucks I see runnin in New York state are runnin bull bars now a days
  4. dunno, I had a nice corned beef and cabbage with yellow mustard on a nice roll and a Smithwicks for lunch the other day at the local Irish Pub....
  5. I never said the B71 was revised. I always figured the B71 radiator shell was their first try at putting a longer engine in, then they just moved the whole nose ahead.
  6. yup definatey unique. hes a good ole boy. drove truck and rode motorcycle all his life and even owned a bar room. his name is 'Little Joe' I know he bought the A model mostly done. I know he did little things on it tho.
  7. heres kinda a funny on this past Tuesday morning on I90 in Ny just west of the Fultonville Ny exit off the thuway truck carrying cabbage rolled over. Canajoharie fire dep responded. Roosevelts towing was busy cleaning cabbage off the road late into the night. gonna be a lot of corned beef without cabbage this week.
  8. was talkin about the Mack engineers J when they desiged the b71, or B70 series. when did they put the normal shell back on them and move the fenders forward with the plates on the cab? 56? 57? then after that they revised them again and used the bigger radiator.
  9. only Fane trucks I have ever seen were Paccars. R J Valentie was mostly Mack, his family has been in the business for ever and actually bought 4 R models off my family when things went bad back in the day
  10. this was obviously before the engineers put their heads together and moved the fenders forward with the plates and made it look normal unlike some cob job radiator shell.
  11. ha ha yup a Hells angel. he actually bought that A model almost done, he just did little things like mount the fifth wheel, and other odds and ends. it did have a little fender bender tho and recently got fixed. I believe the Deckleman boys pull their green B model pulling truck with that yellow B or they at least pull the camper
  12. ship it back here,we will fix it
  13. how about this one on the cover of the one History of Mack book.
  14. looks good. I like it. mine is about the same but the dam 1/4 20 bolts that hold the bracket to the aluminum pump housing are stripped. anyone have a fix or that?
  15. was about $45 bucks for a brand new one from Mack a few years ago for the black one, about $90 for the chrome one.
  16. if I had it in front of me, I could probably circle every hole that wasn't original. I have studied them enough and welded a bunch up in my frame because someone added helper spring brackets. most of those holes In between the two spring hangers can be welded up. the only ones that were original are 1/4 ones for the wiring and air line clamps. other than that Mack didn't drill any holes between the front and rear spring hangers from the factory. the 5/8 ths holes in front of the drear front spring hanger are original along with the 5/8ths ones in front of the cab mount crossmember. the 1/2 inch holes on both sides should be symmetrical for mounting battery boxes and air tank brackets. other than those and the 1/4 ones top and bottom for air line clamps, not much is original I can take a picture of mine tomorrow if youd like.
  17. looks like someone cut up a nice LT cab to make that first one. im with you guys, better than getting scrapped but I hate seeing good sheetmetal used for rat rods. this is a friend of mines. drove B models and R model all his life and rode all kinds of Harleys and is a Hells Angel so this truck kinda fits him. he is also about 4'9'' and recently bought a B65 Mack.
  18. old school 5 spokes to none the less. looks like a 60's dodge chassis with a newer cab and front end
  19. wow is that R400 nice! im beting that blue truck is a R612LST or something with that hood scoop and a 10 speed Roadranger.
  20. wow Mike im stumped to. even has heavy front axle. maybe one truck was wrecked and they used the frame from another and made one? still doesn't explain the triple frame tho. this is one B model that has be stumped.
  21. nice trucks. and trailer. I need a Fruehauf like that one in my collection.
  22. was thinkin the same thing Mike. misprint and they means 250 boosted to 280hp?
  23. I have my B model thru America Collectors insurance, Cherry Hill Nj. been with them for 3 years and its cheap. my cousin was gonna put his 88 R model thru them and they were fine with it BUT the great State of Ny wouldn't do it Historical because it just turned 25. they made him wait til this year to register it.
  24. even has a blue rear window rubber on a ''frame off restoration''. has a non Mack rear and hate to pick it apart but if it has a turbo motor it must be choked down with that small air cleaner. a turbo one would have a top bonnet or be bigger around .
  25. not sure if that ones on a Pete Chassis Larry. F W Keyes had purplish blue colored one on a Pete chassis tho I think.
