  1. well the trusty 7.3 is under my foot again. the not so trusty 6.0 is back in the shop for the third time for all new injectors, $3100.. last set of injectors laster 13000 miles. needless to say the old man is not too happy. junk actually left me on the side of the roads stranded to. never had a GM leave me on the side of the road unlessi helped It a little. driving the trusty 99 7.3 again.
  2. pretty sure it has a green leaker in it. he usually pulls it every year.i know I have seen it at Fonda Speedway during the fair
  3. I dunno , kinda has that gay ass midliner look to the grille and headlights never really cared for the CH, especially the plastic bumper T600A Freightliner wanna be Ch's. the early ones also had the plastic headlites that turned yellow after a few years to. the newer ones with the chrome angled bumper and different headlites are a decent looking truck depending on color.
  4. wonder where that 67 is today? looks at the chrome B model style stack on her and the full chrome bumper, cow catcher and air cleaner bands.
  5. I think it would be more 'truck like' if you used actual nuts on that dog. maybe a could 1/4x20 nuts wired together hanging down?? haha
  6. yea the ones that come with the light up eyes can be had at JC Whitneys or berubes. they are junk. the one that was on my truck was an original Mack dog that someone drilled the eyes out and put a bulb under. not the aftermarket crap.
  7. my bulldog had the eyes drilled out and a light bulb in it when we got the truck, unfortunately my grandfather, the hoarder, has since lost the original bulldog....
  8. ditch the 2 speed, keep the tranny and just swap out the rear end hogs head. should be able to find a higher single or double reduction gear set for that. im sure your runnin 8.25 x 20's. you could also change up to 9.00 or 10.00 x20's to gain some mph
  9. depends how much rust is inside it and what you use to clean it out. I have seen tanks get cleaned and the bottom look like swiss cheese afterwards. usually gas tanks are worse than diesel tanks but the diesel are usually chaffed more on the bottom and are really thin on the bottom
  10. looks pretty solid to me which is rare for any cabover Mack. go find one. as for pulling a 53' dry van, I think any tractor with a 5th wheel would, just not as fast as the cowboys today will
  11. bet nobody would cut you off in traffic with that thing, no wait, nobody knows how to drive anymore, they probably still would
  12. mock up J? I thought the plywood was permanent........
  13. i have done many B model square tanks. I usualy take a grinder and grind down the welds around the ends til they are flat then take a sawsall and cut the end caps off. I then take the and have the inside and outside sandblasted. I have used the tank coating from eastwood and the red stuff from Napa. both work well, stay away from the white coating they sell for motorcycle tanks.its garbage and flakes off. I usually brush it on the inside of the tank and end caps and stay about an inch away from the edge. weld the caps back on, air test it, then pour more sealer inside the tank from the fill and roll it around so it treats the area you welded.
  14. yup, agree. I hate when people weld them to the back of the frame and crossmembers. makes the truck too ridged and the frame wont flex and it cracks. weld on brackets so you can bolt it on.
  15. god an N model firetruck. needle in haystack there. we all know where one met its fate...
  16. shooter doesn't deserve that truck. saw him on youtube in a sing along with Hank Jr and one of m favorites Jamie Johnson. shooter didn't even know the words to his fathers song. what a joke. Waylon is one of my favorites of all time.
  17. I know what your sayin Tim. my 2007 is pretty much an office on wheels, its a bitch going from an extended cab to a reg cab long bow with all your junk
  18. pretty odd setup. looks the the cowl is a standard R model one in aussie. the cowl isn't straight to the hood like here in the US
  19. cant remember what it was to get into the grounds at springfield mass. cant remember but I think it was more reasonable than that. in my opinion if you bring a truck, they shouldn't charge you for the truck, just for your own admission.
  20. never seen the tophat style chrome, have only seen the rounded hubcap style as I call it in chome. they show up on ebay rarely. most all early R model firetrucks had the chrome hubcap style over.
  21. what happened to A n D? they still in the business or have any B models left?i remember about 8-10 years ago they use to have B model parts and cabs on pallets and eveything around their shop. most of their B models were modified road tractors I think one was on ebay a while back and ended up I the Midwest somewhere.
  22. i dunno, I can tell you this, when I first put my truck together with 10 speed duplex and it was useless behind the end707. couldn't ever split it and it was NEVER in the power band and was always lugging or screaming. ended up putting a triplex behind it and its a dream now. the truck it came out of had a TRQ7210 18 speed quadbox behind the end707.
  23. badass. I watched the ones with he v12 in the 8n to. amazing. 8n's are getting reasonable again. about 5 years ago the prices went thru the roof
  24. my brother called on that one today. hoping to go look at I this weekend. looks like a B42 to me. has aths flaps on it.
  25. kinda like Sears oil did in Rome Ny, except they were tryin to run them into the 90's and I think all the guys got sick of driving old junk and driving a 671 with a 10 speed or a 711 and duplex haulin 100,000lbs of oil up the Ny thruway. they had the auction about 5 years ago and it was like the walked out of the garage in 1994 and shut the lights off. course I think Cook brothers got the pick of the liter right after that and got most of the running B models and Brockways.
