  1. its not common but not RARE . they show up from time to time. few hundred bucks maybe, its not a pot of gold if that's what your thinking.
  2. im interested. that's 10 min from my house and could use the frame ...
  3. <-----------------Cheap Mack guy..
  4. basically it works to rot your vehicle away quicker... because the government up here seems to think we need the roads BARE at all times and covered with salt for all the morans who cant drive with a little snow on the road...
  5. cause Doug Fetterly and Dennis Meehan have gobbled them all up Vinny.....
  6. id ditch the 24 volt starter while your under there along with the series parallel switch. a simple 39 or 42MT Delco 12 volt starter and some new cable and two hot batteries will turn that thing over like no ones business.
  7. I know at least one other manufacturer made glass hoods for B models and L models but cant remember the name. this has been an active topic here off and on. yours is def a Clariben hood. the hoods were an aftermarket deal to replace the worn out sheet metal. don't really know if it was much lighter than the metal hood and fenders.
  8. yikes! a single axle with a tag and someone put a dumpbox on it??? id steer away from that white truck.
  9. pretty cheap for the truck. its in nice shape, even interior is clean. def a newer cab and I doubt it has that few miles on it, maybe the cab does...
  10. gee a concave cab B42. wtf. gutless engine with a cab not many people can fit into. who knew..
  11. the early R models used B model front axles, same width. after that they went about 2'' wider. that Stine truck is on an older R chassis I believe to, you can see how the wheels stick out past the fenders. it can be done, the steering column might have to be used from the R model, but I have seen that done also
  12. are you talking the actual bucket or the rectangular trim around them? I think the buckets had a metal ring on the backside and were screwed thru the bucket and fiberglass into the sheet metal in the back with sheet metal screws. the rectangular trim plates were screwed on with 1/4 x 20 phillips bolts. some had 4, some had a lip that slid into the hood near the middle and just had 2 bolts.
  13. def looks like a town truck in the pic also. you can see the trap door in the hood.
  14. looks good, pretty hard to fix that dog without breaking the legs. looks like some idiot backed into it. definitely need to paint the rims. gray rims mean owner operator with pride haha, white rims usually mean fleet truck with not much maintenance haha
  15. think the 70's and 80's were the haydays for most Mack dealers, I remember going to the dealer as a kid in the 80's, back when they treated you with respect, now it seems if your not in there getting a spot mirror and chrome for your brand new VolMack, they don't seem to give a shit.
  16. funny how as soon as Superdog Mike pointed out the hood you have for sale in the parts section is for an L model, now your building an L model.......hmmmmmph good luck stickin that air cooler in front of a little L model radiator
  17. Mack logo Viking T bars in it also.nice truck, big price tho for a truck that needs a frame
  18. tell him to drop the camper, pick up a lowboy and haul some rust free B models back to Harrisville! thought he had a camper down there and up here anyways???
  19. they show up on ebay. they are standard old style Trico arms, don't know why they are so expensive. the original ones have just the pivot bolt and other bolt, some other ones have the bolt thru the end of arm style but both will work.
  20. B model concave backs are out there but finding one not rotted to hell is getting pretty hard. if its decent, you fit in it, and are comfortable, your the only one that has to be happy. they hurt like a bitch when you bang your funny bone on the back window trim tho when you forget and go to shift. I think most were B67's. I have seen a few B61's with a concave back and one B65 in my days. never seen a B42 concave but it was an option.
  21. yea someone knew what they were up to painting that one black with the cow catcher on the front... kinda odd to have such a specific truck at an Industrial Laundry facility. and I thought Dan Bruno sold off one of his and it went to Canada??
  22. Leslie, um,,, mudflaps???? no mack flaps???
  23. White Wc22's had belt driven compressors and Mack put belt driven compressors on the 413 Chrysler they put in R410's as well so its possible
  24. wonder if that exhaust manifold ever rubs the shock mount when the motor moves a little......
