  1. Thanks for the invite Tom, don't think I would have made it in time for the turkey. On a side note, I don't think turkey á la printer paper sounds very appetizing.
  2. Guy down the street was already starting to smoke a turkey about 9 o'clock, either he's planning to eat early or it takes longer than expected. Smelt pretty good, almost invited myself for dinner.
  3. Four day weekend? That means you can eat all the turkey sammiches you want and you don't even have to worry 'bout over sleeping 'cuz of too much tryptophan.. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you guys!
  4. I wasn't sure when their cut off point is. The TS473 is described as being for model years 2000 and forward. Yeah, better watch it bub!
  5. You'll be better off looking for individual component manuals. I think Mack only offers "custom collated" manuals for trucks 10 years old or newer.
  6. We had a couple of them in that went to El Salvador, it's amazing how much "cleaner" everything is on the export engines.
  7. Fabco or Marmon I believe.
  8. Try clicking the "sign out" button at the top of the screen and sign in again. When you sign in make sure you haven't got the "sign in anonymously" box checked.
  9. Could be leaking past the pipe plugs in the water jackets of the cylinder head. I think it was around that time frame that they were having trouble with leaks from the plugs, so they started using an encapsulated epoxy on the plugs in the heads. Might be another oil cooler or leaks around the liner at the counterbore.
  10. You might want to make sure the picture is sized correctly, I think the photo editor window that opens up says recommended size is 200 px. You also might try removing your old picture before trying to change it. If you continue to have problems let one of us know and we'll see what we can do.
  11. The Mack T300 series transmissions are not available in a 15 speed model. The T313(LR) 13 speed is available in the Pinnacle, as is the T318(LR) 18 speed. If you wanted to go with a Fuller transmission you could get an RTLO-14913A, RTLO-16913A, RT-14915, RTO-14915, or RTO-16915. 18 speed Fuller models are also available.
  12. 1-3 is the fuel temperature sensor.
  13. Tom, Randy turned me on to that site, so I figger he was thinkin' 'bout buyin' it, but he must've decided it was too small for his needs. There's a lot of varmints in Texas.
  14. This one's pretty big too. http://www.vincelewis.net/acco.html
  15. Just got done installing a smooth emergency engine shutdown system.

Shit. I could have done that instead. You win.

  16. I think you should be idling around 700 rpm.
  17. Does it have a manual or an automatic transmission?
  18. If the rod caps aren't aligned properly it will eat into the crankshaft.
  19. Trent, I moved this thread to the trucks for sale forum. Anyone else having a problem posting there?
  20. He had directions from the rancher. "....then ya turn left at the dead cow, pass 34 dried up ponds, at the 35th dried up pond turn left again, then yer gunna go straight fer a stretch 'til ya see a couple big coyotes under a tree, well you'll be wanting to shoot at them coyotes, but don't do it, their all that's keepin' the wild hogs at bay. Just after ya see them coyotes you turn left again and pass through 'bout 40 gates, then your gonna turn left again at the wash..."
  21. Now that sounds like a TV show. Like "Mad Max" meets "The Comancheros"!
  22. If it's fuel that's leaking you need a new fuel line. If it's oil and it's coming out from around the injector line it's probably a hard, dried out or cut o-ring on the top end of the injector.
  23. Starting in February 2006 Mack started factory filling the CXN, CHN, and CXP with Dexron III. The '07 emission and later trucks are using Dexron III. They also have a plate type power steering cooler, that's mounted in the right frame rail next to the engine, but I've seen a couple of the newer trucks with a fin and tube heat exchanger mounted in front of the radiator.
  24. Glad you weren't hurt. Make sure to play up the sentimental value angle.
  25. I can't remember if it's involved in a campaign or not. Mack, at least to my knowledge, never campaigned any of the RD or CV chassis, though they did publish a similar fix for them. I've seen far worse than burnt out switches in some of those. Mack's explanation of the problem was that the burnt out switches were caused by current surges. In the RD and some of the earlier CV chassis the black "D" panel connector will actually melt.
