  1. Back in October I made this post: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?showtopic=16320&st=0&p=65997&fromsearch=1entry65997. I had intended to post some pictures of some new chassis as well, but somehow I forgot to. So, without further ado, here they is:
  2. Here's a couple of pictures of HD Snow and Sons House Moving from Bulldog magazine volume 2 2010. Says they're located over near Randyp territory.
  3. Mack says restricting coolant flow through the EGR cooler will cause it to overheat and crack (assuming the EGR valve isn't blocked off too), haven't tried it myself so I can't say for sure. Not to get off topic, but has anyone heard from JerryB?

    Logical:

Ahem, if I may, a continuance of that logical progression, "EVERYONE BOOZE UP AND RIOT!"
  5. I talked to one of the Mack delivery drivers (works for Iron Tiger I think) and he said that setup is kind of a pain in the ass. I would imagine that it's cheaper in the long run once the initial outlay of funds is recovered. He said there's some kind of a saddle up in the frame rail but I haven't seen any of these lately so I haven't got any new/better pictures of them.
  6. Replacing the grommets will only cost you a couple of dollars.
  7. Welcome to BMT. You might check the fuel return cross over pipe (U shaped pipe between the cylinder heads) for dried out or cracked rubber grommets.
  8. I didn't notice it before, but in the Allis Chalmers ad it looks like the 3rd drawing has a Mack AC dump truck in it.
  9. And last but not least, this Caterpillar ad is for Rob and "Momma"
  10. Bullhusk, this ones fer you, Detroit Power!
  11. Here's one for Cummins engines
  12. One for Randy and Otherdog, Euclid earth moving equipment
  13. Found a really old magazine with some neat ads. Here's one for Allis Chalmers
  14. We have an old air tank with a ball valve attached to an Aeroquip line that we connect to the turbo oil feed hose. Shop air is connected to the tank and the ball valve is opened which fills the system with oil in the reverse direction that it will normally flow through the system.
  15. You're quite welcome, I forgot to add that the flange end of the core has a small notch cut into it. This is an index mark, it should be pointing up.
  16. It seems like Mike had a thread some time ago about either making a new latch or repairing his old one, but I can't remember which.
  17. I installed some automatic grease systems on three CTPs in (I think) 2006. Other than a few problems with camshafts and pyrometers on a couple of themthey haven't been nearly as bad as the '07 emissions MP8 engines.
  18. Man-o-man, I mean to tell you, that is one UGGGGGLY looking truck right there!
  19. But those pictures that were up there of the newly redesigned Extra Heavy Duty B model that's coming out were pretty neat...
  20. Here is section XII from a 1981 Midliner master Manual regarding the brake and air system. I apologize for the file size, it is quite large.

  22. You'll need to remove it from the engine first, remove the end caps, then push the core out. I usually place a wood block under the end without the flange, set the assembly vertically and bump it against the ground so that the core is pushed upwards. You can build a couple of plates and gaskets to bolt onto the oil inlet and outlet ports on top of the housing, one blank, and one with a tapped hole, so that you can pressurize the assembly to check for leaks.
  23. All kinds of super top secret, highly confidential, "For Your Eyes Only", "This Message will Self Destruct" type of stuff (not really).
  24. I've been seeing a lot more PAI parts. I've never run into any of their internal engine parts (pistons, liners, etc.), but some of the other parts they offer are seem to be quite good. They offer several transmission parts that appear to be just as good (or maybe better, as much as I hate to admit it) as the OEM parts. Their flywheels for an E-Tech/ASET engine are somewhere around 25% of the price of the Mack flywheel for the same engine. The same can be said for their EUPs, which are branded as being Bosch parts. I have never had any trouble with these parts when I installed them, nor can I recall trouble directly related to them. Check out member MalibuJim's PAI B61 in his gallery!
  25. I added these to the wiki Fuel system information: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?app=tutorials&article=64 Clutch information: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?app=tutorials&article=65
