  1. It looks to me like it is an air shift control for a PTO.
  2. You may or may not know this already, but it might help someone out. Spoke Wheel Tightening Procedure.pdf
  3. Nice truck Southbound! Does it have the V8 in it still? There used to be one around here that looked like your truck. Not quite the same age, but just about the same color and originally built with a V8.
  4. I thought Randy still had the bear.
  5. In my opinion Duralite is second to none. If time and/or money is tight you might look into having your existing CAC repaired by a radiator shop.
  6. I imagine that would be a pretty colorful ride-along!
  7. I have to agree with Sean, and others, that if you cannot or will not fix the problem, then you're in the wrong business. That being said, Joe Cummings, and others, are also correct in saying that frames can be repaired. Attached to my post is a scanned copy of the manual pages he referred to. This is from an older manual, but the more current manual 14-103 describes basically the same repair procedures. TS442 Frame Repair.pdf
  8. Thad, I think I've asked about that here before. I've seen parts listings for VMAC II E9 engines rated at 610 HP, maybe 650. Sure would have been cool to see them make a comeback.
  9. Yeah, post some picture. C'mon, don't hold out on us! Pictures please!
  10. It's a Spicer SPL series driveline. It's an I-Shift, maybe it has different programming to match the Mack engine programming.
  11. Welcome to BMT!
  12. Congratulations, that makes you a gen-u-ine cee-lebrity! Did you catch yourself on the show?
  13. Was it a dealership that quoted that price?

  15. A first grade girl handed in the drawing below for her homework assignment. The teacher graded it and the child brought it home. She returned to school the next day with the following note: Dear Ms. Davis, I want to be perfectly clear on my child's homework illustration. It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage in a strip joint surrounded by male customers with money. I work at Home Depot and had commented to my daughter how much money we made in the recent snowstorm. This drawing is of me selling a shovel. Sincerely, Mrs. Harrington
  16. And another Roger was a salesman's delight when it came to any kind of unusual gimmicks. His wife Marsha had long ago given up trying to get him to change. One day Roger came home with another one of his unusual purchases. It was a robot that Roger claimed was actually a lie detector . It was about 5:30 that afternoon when Tommy, their 11 year old son, returned home from school Tommy was over 2 hours late. "Where have you been? Why are you over 2 hours late getting home?" asked Roger. "Several of us went to the library to work on an extra credit project," said Tommy. The robot walked around the table and slapped Tommy, knocking him completely out of his chair . "Son," said Roger, "this robot is a lie detector, now tell us where you really were after school." "We went to Bobby's house and watched a movie." said Tommy. "What did you watch?" asked Marsha. "The Ten Commandments ." Answered Tommy. The robot went around to Tommy and once again slapped him, knocking him off his chair. With his lip quivering, Tommy got up, sat down and said, "I am sorry I lied. We really watched a movie called Sex Queen." "I am ashamed of you son," said Roger. "When I was your age, I never lied to my parents." The robot walked around to Roger and delivered a whack that nearly knocked him out of his chair. Marsha doubled over in laughter, almost in tears and said, "Boy, did you ever ask for that one! You can't be too mad with Tommy. After all, he is your son!" The robot walked around to Marsha and slapped her out of her chair!
  17. Ask and ye shall recieve A blonde heard that baths in milk would make her beautiful. She left a note for her milkman to leave 25 gallons of milk. When the milkman read the note, he felt there must be a mistake. He thought she probably meant 2.5 gallons. So he knocked on the door to clarify the point. The blonde came to the door and the milkman said, "I found your note asking me to leave 25 gallons of milk. Did you mean 2.5 gallons?" The blonde said, "No, I want 25 gallons. I'm going to fill my bathtub up with milk and take a milk bath so I can look young and beautiful again." The milkman asked, "Do you want it pasteurized?" The blonde said, "No, just up to my tits. I can splash it on my eyes."
  18. You can check the voltage drop across the EUPs while cranking the engine. With your DMM set to measure AC voltage it should show .12 volts, set to measure DC voltage it should read .016 volts. This will tell you if your EECU is sending power out to the EUP solenoids. Another thing is that the engine has to be turning at least 150-200 rpm steadily before it will start.
  19. Not to doubt your previous checks, but one of our guys put an E-Tech engine in awhile back and forgot to install all of the ground wires and tighten the ground bolt at the engine block and it did pretty much the same thing. Sometimes it would smoke a little and act like it was going to start but just wouldn't quite make it. The lights in the dash would light up like everything was powering up. There is a 16mm bolt on the left side of the block, about 8-10 inches in front of the flywheel housing, just above the oil pan. It should have 5 wires/cables attached to it, one from the frame, one from the engine power harness, and three from the EECU
  20. Here's Mack Service Bulletin SB 210-043 SB 210-043 Use of BioDiesel Fuel in MACK Diesel Engines E-Tech, ASET, MP7, MP8 (June 28, 2007).pdf I seem to remember that at one time higher blends were considered OK, but I think that was changed with the introduction of the DPF.
  21. As Mackpro said, Mack and volvo issued statements regarding the use of biodiesel blends in their engines. Here is a link to some other information from Stanadyne's website, a common position statement from the FIE manufacturers: http://www.stanadyne.com/docs/pubs/FIEM_Common_Position_Statement_2009.pdf
  22. Wouldn't it be great if they reintroduced the "R" cab on a lighter duty chassis?!
  23. Hadn't really thought of that, but it's a definite possibility. That seems to happen more often than one one expect, especially with injectors (EUIS) costing over $1000.
  24. The book says they're the same procedure. You're looking for approx. 26 degrees.
