  1. I have to agree with Randy, the more I look at them the more I like them.
  2. OD, everytime you start talking about BBQ I start getting hungry. You need to get a second B model and set it up as a mobile catering truck! You could call it OtherDog's B Model BBQ Service.
  3. The White shop was eventually torn down. Later, the property was bought and a retro 50's diner was built there. When Mrs. Martin died several years later, the warehouse (across the street from the shop), was torn down and a Starbucks was built there. The diner was kind of nice, the Starbucks I have never been to. Probably never will.
  4. I have to agree with joe's mack. I would prefer using the Mack OEM head bolts personally. For new bolts you might try PAI parts. If used head bolts will do, try a local scrap yard. Make sure that you correctly identify the engine series (E6 or E7) when buying your parts. The E6 uses 5/8" UNC threaded head bolts, the E7 uses 16mm 1.5 threaded head bolts. The differences in the two thread types are not obvious if not closely inspected. The engine data tag on the valve cover should tell you what engine series yours is. If the tag is missing, the E6 has two stamped steel plates bolted to the block on the right side of the engine behind the fuel pump, the E7 does not.
  5. It sounds kind of like the clutch may have worn into the splines on the input shaft. I have seen that happen before on Eatons with the same result, but they were hard to shift at all times, not just when warmed up. Here is a link to the Roadranger hardshifting diagnostic flowchart: http://www.roadranger.com/ecm/idcplg?IdcService=GET_FILE&dID=276861
  6. Yeah, it is pretty cool looking, I like it too. The old woman that used to own the White dealership here died a few years back. She probably had some parts for it, but who knows what happened to them after they were auctioned off. I think the truck may be up for sale Randy. JD is getting out of the business (or has been out of the business and is now getting around to liquidating his assets). The property where this is parked is up for sale, so the truck may be for sale too. I'll try to remember to ask him next time I see him. He's got an old bulk trailer and some other equipment there that I couldn't really get a good picture of due to distance and angle. I think one is a Marmon that the hood was off of. There was also this cabover parked there.
  7. Here are a few pictures of some old trucks sitting around in my area.
  8. Here are the torque specs from the Mack E7 service manual. Torque all head mounting capscrews in three stages to the specified torque. Torque all head mounting capscrews in sequence to 50 lb-ft (68 N•m). Torque all head mounting capscrews in sequence to 125 lb-ft (170 N•m). Torque all head mounting capscrews in sequence to final torque value of 205 lb-ft (278 N•m). E7 Head Bolt Torque Sequence.pdf
  9. I didn't know it was possible to type with a lisp so accurately.
  10. Yep. Guess I didn't see that. Must be that some of those pictures Mark's been posting are wrecking my eye sight.
  11. Probably trying to remind you to be careful in yours (no hot rodding once you get those new wheels)!
  12. Number one, what color smoke is it? Number two, have you noticed any change in performance, use of oil , fuel, etc? Number three, what engine do you have?
  13. Did you check any of those "fetish" websites for your picture? You never know what you might see...
  14. I haven't had much to do with the Eaton Lightning transmissions, but the ones I have seen, in used fleet trucks, seem to hold up pretty well. At some point I think the FRO 15210C was the standard transmission on the CH chassis. Any problems related to the cam should have been taken care of long ago under warranty, but if you can get a dealership to check the warranty history on it it would be a good idea to do so.
  15. Make sure the transmission is a straight 10 speed and not a Super 10 (unless that's what you want).

    Damn

I always heard there was a pot at the end of the rainbow, just didn't think it was this kind. I guess someone finally found it. Randyp, you been branching out?
  17. Sounds like it may have a bad ground at the dash cluster, but usually the cluster is bad and has to be replaced. The cab air filter is in the hvac panel. Here is a picture of how to remove the cover, the filter is a blue colored mat on the right side of the evaporator and heater cores. HVAC Cover.pdf
  18. I just hope you didn't forget it was your anniversary when you took her out to help drill out the bolt! Better make sure to take her out for dinner after helping you with that bolt! Happy regular anniversary.
  19. As Superdog said, it should have an extra number in the VIN after the 8, if that number is a 6 then here is some info for you. Engine-ENDT676 Transmission-TRXL107A 6 speed Rear Differentials- CRDLP92, CRDL93, 3.87 Ratio
  20. You can try a 7MT232 guage. It's 3-50 psi, for an RD6 chassis, I'm not sure of the finish on the guage bezel but I would assume it is flat black.
  21. They've made significant improvements to the both parts that really has reduced the numberof repeat failures
  22. He did the original TV show, I think Bill Cosby did the same show later on. I think it was Tammy Wynette that sang the song, but I could be wrong there.
  23. Forgot about the coolant tanks, they have one piece steel tanks available now.
  24. By the way, happy BMT anniversary Randy, how long y'all been married?
