  1. happy birthday
  2. without seeing pics,$1500 to $2500 based on your description. As for the engine,if it is just going to be a hobby truck, fix it,if you going to use it everyday, forget it and find a diesel, you'll get a lot of time & $ wrapped up in a swap, when you could find a running diesel for close to the same money. I always thought the 401 and 402 were Mack's own design, others have said they too are Continental's so I can't answer that with facts.
  3. The 1st Mack I drove was Dad's 1978 Cruiseliner,WL786LST38709,ENDT676,5 speed. It was June13,1979.Almost 6 years later,April 6,1985,I took my Chauffer's license test with this same truck.
  4. hard to put a price on something without pics, could be anywhere from $1000 to $15000.If the engine is original, gas stuff is getting hard to come by,but not impossible, sheet metal is common with most of the B models, the real nice stuff is getting scarce, but if you can weld and do bodywork, theres lots of decent stuff still around. A lot of the little stuff you can get new thru Watt's Mack.
  5. Could be,don't look too bad,really.
  6. That's a sweet B,love the color and interior is beautiful. That a IH fuel tank??
  7. That is cool as hell. Maybe Gene would know where it went?
  8. The ones that will give you the most grief are the ones on the lighter 6 spoke tandem axle drive wheel hub that the studs were held in place with a cotter pin,if they start spinning on you.might as well get the torch.
  9. Getting the W too,for a friend,made a package deal.
  10. yep,maybe not as drastic,but it's happening

  16. DM6xx6 fill in the x's depending on the engine
  17. That dump is definitely an old Hitchings truck
  18. I think the Cruiseliner's are a tad smaller,if it aint 20 below tomorrow like they say,I will measure for you.
  19. sharp little B61
  20. I got one of the old style half dogs like this awhile back that is solid brass, not hollowed out like the originals, either, pretty heavy,no markings at all. Either really nicely homemade,or made for a plaque or something.
  21. looks like a good one Travis
  22. That's a crime if that truck got scrapped, those big old Sterlings are cool old trucks.
  23. Ditto
  24. welcome. we need to see some pics of this 69 Mack.
  25. my brothers 2004 went thru 14 turbos,4 or 5 waterpumps, melted the coolant tank 2 times, actually caught fire once, not to mention the endless codes and malfunctions recalls and updates. It spent more time in the shop than every other Mack we've had since 1972 combined. He had 3 different wrecker services on speed dial. Mack finally bought it back and replaced it with a new 2006 which he still runs, and has been a really good truck.
