  1. musta been holdovers
  2. Bosselman's in Des Moines is a Pilot now. The old Truck Haven in Sioux City was tore down and is now a Pilot, too. There was another in Des Moines, Bar B or B Bar B, can't remember, they had their own fuel transport,a restored blue Bullnose KW.
  3. Can't remember the name of it,but always liked the food at the Atkinson,IL truck stop on I-80,still standing last I knew, but locked up for years, The Hawk I at Coralville,IA,it's a huge mall now. The Cyclone Truckstop on Highway 30 in Ames,IA, Grandview Corners at Highway 61 & 92,
  4. Just seen this on Ebay. It's too small for you but you could hang it on your wall. Only $5.99
  5. AT also used a lot of LJ Macks.
  6. I think we will try both of them on the sled. I been trying to buy a R773 with a 318 for awhile, think it would be cool at shows to have them lined up,showing the 3 different manufacturers V8's offered in the R700 back in the day.

  8. b61mack57 delivered the R700 I bought from him the first of Dec. Unfortunately I was at a meeting in Des Moines and wasn't able to meet him,but he did a good job getting it here and described the truck well. I definitely wouldn't hesitate buying anything from him again.
  9. sure hate to see that happen,CL's with sleepers are so rare these days.
  10. I just went outside and gave my Superliner a big kiss .
  11. That truck has been for sale for a long long time.
  12. No that would be right, the RD688 had both versions of the 350. Things got kinda run together in my first post, sometimes my fingers don't translate what I wanna say the best.
  13. It's the engine that;s the difference. Depending on the year made, a RD686 could have a ENDT676 Maxidyne '73 to '80 or a E6-285 or E6-300 . The RD688 would have been powered by the first tip turbine 350's then the E6-350,then the E6-300 Econodyne version. The RD690 started out with the EM6 275 and EM6 300 Maxidynes, but I;m pretty sure after the E7 engines came out, they were all called RD690;s no matter what hp of the E7 engine was in it.
  14. looks like the Brown still has Associated Transport on the doors . Brown and AT were kinda like Freightliner and Consolidated Freightways.
  15. 3 singles and one set, just checked. Search " Mack emblems"
  16. looks like a regular old Holland 5th wheel, seen thousands of them
  17. That's why I can hardly walk.
  18. I've been having that trouble too, can't copy & paste, can't post links, and when I post pics, they don't show up when they load, but always show up in the post so far.
  19. There is no body, like I said earlier he bought it as a cab & chassis. They guy Larry bought it from had a flatbed on it.
  20. You might check with a truck tire dealer, they might know of or might even have a polisher of their own.
  21. is there nobody in your area that does machine polishing? most places charge $50 -60 per wheel and they can make a pretty nasty wheel look new when done.
  22. I don't see why that wouldn't work. An old friend of mine had a H63 back in the day with a Unishift,he said he had plumbed his splitter to the front brake limiting valve when the splitter on the knob broke.
  23. no I don't . Seems like everytime I'm there I never have my camera. I need to go over and see him sometime and take some.
