  1. They are on Ebay all the time , priced all over the place,. Like Vlad said, most need rechroming but once in awhile a real nice set will turn up. The C type fire trucks and the MB were the last trucks they used them on,up till at least '69.
  2. B615 or modified B61 for sure. Sheet metal and cab look good from what I could see. Budd wheels a plus.,be nice to see more pics.
  3. Al, they were the lucky ones getting to park next to your truck.
  4. There were 81 H60's built with gas power, some of them were repowered at the factory with diesels before being sold. A friend of mine has a original gas powered H60. They offered the Cummins engine in the H61's also, thats why they were available up to '57,overlapping the H63. Be interesting to know why Mack didn't call the Cummins powered ones H71's,instead of leaving them as H61's. I've never seen one in person, but have seen pics.
  5. R492P translates into a 3208 powered R400 ,P stood for platform chassis, which basically meant it was a lighter single axle straight truck chassis. yours would be the 190 th built
  6. it's just a fluke,they aren't that hard to find.
  7. They musta went to scrap . wouldn't be the first time something that stupid has happened.
  8. it's a 65 mph truck, I'm thinking 3rd gear
  9. That looks pretty dangerous hanging there . I will come take it off your hands so it doesn't fall on somebody.
  10. Going to try it with this '75 RL795LST. It's got the 325,2 stick 6 speed and 44k rears.Haven't tried pulling yet.
  11. Let's hope not cause I'm going to do the same thing with one of mine.
  12. Saw the 40k Superliners, yeah he's dreaming. That Mack/Scania engine been on quite awhile.
  13. There's a flywheel for a 866. A PAI inframe kit says it crosses to Mack p/n 215SB204 . and last but not least,a set of used gold V8 emblems that must be made of real gold.
  14. It's your truck, but I sure hate to see you part it. You'll end up selling this and that, and then you have an incomplete truck, and then next thing you know, you are hauling the remains across the scales, because nobody wants what you have left. Seen it many times.
  15. happy birthday
  16. Just bought this on Ebay, appears to be NOS but what did it go on?
  17. There was a grocery warehouse for Aldi near here that had a bunch of U models identical to that one, short, red, spoke wheels, all 237's up til '78 when they started getting 300+ with 10 speeds. My Grandpa piggybacked a bunch of them home for our local dealer. There is still one of the U612's around here I been trying to get.
  18. if you can't find any close, let me know I have some.
  19. you definitely want to add something to the backside of the bottom mirror area if you use an aluminum door on a R model .
  20. shoulda looked at his pics better I guess, went back and looked, sure enough,2 intake tubes.
  21. Yeah,I priced one awhile back and about spit my chew on the partsman when he told me. What makes that little piece so hi priced?
  22. heck,that's a ENDT676, 283 hp. I figured being a single axle,it woulda just had 237.
