  1. no idea how they numbered them
  2. eddeere,sending you a pm
  3. I was in contact with the main historian at John Deere yesterday, and he told me he doubted if he could find out much,as they mainly concentrated on records of stuff they built, not what they bought for use.But he was very interested and said he would start checking some old factorty photos to see if by chance there were any pics of the trucks.
  4. serial # is 575976
  5. I don't think I'll do the John Deere theme, all our tractors are red
  6. If all you need is a door,no since replacing the whole cab.only takes 8 bolts to change a door.
  7. that's a cool old DM800
  8. Moose and Benji (ex football player Rosie Grier) drove the Crackerbox
  9. I'll be honest,I don't know how it was set up or how it worked. both trucks were spec'd with it from the factory, just an air switch on the dash, flip it up and you could put the transmission in any gear you wanted and the truck wouldn't move
  10. I think that glovebox was an option for the heavier spec'd B's. I've got a couple.
  11. I can t find my pics but MACKMAN, Al Tocci brought several B models out of the SW US that were painted a lot like that B dump truck a few years back.
  12. Looks like a RD685,237 Maxidyne,with a 6 speed. You won't find a more bullet proof drivetrain. I'm with Brian,weld it and run it.
  13. not mine but they would be welcome here. That place obviously belongs to a person with great taste. Wouldn't be surprised if the man wore bib overalls and chewed Skoal, lol.
  14. T2180 is the better transmission as far as I'm concerned. It's the older generation transmission, had 2 of them never had a lick of trouble with either one. Make sure you get the PTO neutral switch, really nice feature. I never had a PTO but used to use it in the winter to warm the transmission up. Only had one t318,in the first Rawhide I got for my son,it shelled out with less than 500k and Mack wouldn't back it up. Friend of mine drives for a feed company that ran several of them, most failed within the warranty period.
  15. Its either an RL or RS700. I saw that listed on Craigslist, looks nice in the pics. If it is a RL,check the frame over good as those were aluminum rails.Nothing wrong with that as long as it's good shape, but if abused and cracked ,or starting to corrode, then you have major issues. The RS would have a steel frame.
  16. welcome, looking forward to the pics
  17. Not a great pic,but only one I could find of her and a truck.
  18. Just got an email back from the Mack Museum,my AB was last truck in an order of 3 for the John Deere factory in Moline,IL.,delivered by the Davenport,Ia Mack branch.,Aug.8,1925.
  19. F & W Mack was a top notch dealer, unfortunately they are no longer. Located in Cedar Rapids ,Iowa, their huge neon Mack sign was always a sight to look forward too. I never knew Wayne, but got to be good friends with his son,Tom. He told me his Dad used to always try to get the first truck built (serial # 1001) of a new model to sell whenever he could. He still has the porcelain Mack sign in the pic.
  20. Al, BJ & the Bear was a dumb show, but who could forget "Stacks" ? Especially in the episode when she was driving the old 4070 and had a flat tire.
  21. there's a guy selling Movin'On DVD's,not the best qualitybut worth the watch if you miss the show. truckerflicks.com I think it is
