  1. When I would go Hayward with Grandpa to pick up new trucks for our local dealer, they used to fly us into Oakland if I remember right. Then we had to ride BART partway and then catch a taxi to the plant. The staging and piggybacking area was such a different sight there than at Allentown. Multi color paint jobs, dual chrome stacks, aluminum tanks and wheels,Superliners and Valueliners with bunks. At Allentown it would be rows of red, white or green F,R and U models with spoke wheels and painted fuel tanks & bumpers.
  2. No hurry. I was looking thru those pics you sent me,looks like there is a right hand fender in the mix. My old crusty AB has a left fender so looks like we got all the missing stuff covered, I hope. He was mistaken about the driveshaft,it has a brand new one in it,still has the sticker on it from Vander Haag's. Only thing that's got me bugged is they say they had it running, but when we got home and I had time to look it over better, there was no carb. It was snowing hard and we loaded and got out of there in a hurry so I didn't notice it right off. I called them back and he's supposed to be looking. The hole was taped over so it didn;t fall off.
  3. that is cool as hell. Where did she find that ?
  4. If you can't find one,I have a complete steel front for a '67 DM600,you could convert a fiberglass hood into one.
  5. Wonder what the 3rd air intake behind the bunk is for ?
  6. I'd think twice about the louvred grille.my son got one for his Rawhide, beside the fact it was a royal pain in the ass to install, the damn thing isn't holding up well.cracking around the screw holes, etc.
  7. That's a shame,looks like it was a sharp truck
  8. Oh, I thought it was something you had already removed. Why are you taking it off? That looks so good on there. As much as I'd like to have it,it should stay on where it belongs.
  9. The Superliner closest in this pic is a built in '84 titled as a '85 Superliner 1 RWS722LST that belongs to a friend of mine. It had a Superliner II hood fitted to it some years back. I don't know what had to be changed to make it fit.

  12. Talked my son into driving me to Des Moines today to pick up the AB. Other than the weather starting to turn shitty on us,everything went smooth. Waiting for a nicer day to unload and check it over better. Nice to get out of the house for awhile, but nicer to get home and get my leg propped back up.
