  1. Mark, I've got a MH with all good rear end componenets, brakes springs, whole nine yards, all I'm going to have to do is unbolt each one, slide one out and slide other in. Soon as weather straightens up,shouldn't be more than a weekend job for a couple 3 thirsty helpers. If my painter don't charge anymore for this one than my Superliner,I'll have less than $8k in it total and that includes entire cost of the MH and 5 cases of Coors light.
  2. there are other subjects??????
  3. I'm sure if all women were like you eastcoast, there would be more harmony in the world.
  4. They get pissy over the damnedest things. I been in the dog house so many times I've lost count, soon as they want something, everything will be peaches & cream ..................til the next time. The more I figure out about women, the more I love my trucks.
  5. Howard Fugitt is right,Al. Scenery Hill,PA I think.Someone offered Howard F. a crazy price for it several years ago, after the Phoenix convention if I remember right. Sometime later it started showing up on Ebay,at least twice under different owners before Jerry Howard ended up with it.
  6. I've seen pics from various shows,Pat Archiere not sure if I spelled that right.,beautiful truck.
  7. just the way its parked,Vlad and yes I think I got it very reasonable
  8. depends on where you buy them.Walcott had them for $99.95 for a set of 5. I made the mistake of buying mine from Mack so I could get the short center light, thinking there couldn't be that much difference in price,I never asked. Had to order them as they weren't in stock, cost me $454.75. I about shit.
  9. Are there no commercial wheel polishers in his area? I can get brand new stud pilot wheels thru Vander Haag's,too.
  10. A friend of mine bought this truck brand new in '87. EM6-300 with a 12 speed,4:17's on Camelback,200 in. wheelbase,11R22.5 budds, Another friend of mine that drives for him ran into me the other day and asked if I wanted it. Said it had gotten too bad to use,the trunion stand had cracked and he decided it wasn't worth fixing,if you can believe that? The truck has 454k actual miles, I definitely think it's worth fixing. No rust thru, but needs paint. I think it will make a real nice spare tractor to have around.
  11. I gotta ask why? I work mine everyday and yes the convenience of a hub pilot wheel would be nice, but there is no way I could justify the cost of a complete all axle swap .
  12. The old ones KW and Pete used were solid metal, plated aluminum or pot metal and heavy. All the ones I remember, back to the ones on my Dad's first '72 F model were plastic.
  13. Keep what you have. The new square front horns start peeling and rust out,the old round chrome plated brass ones last a lifetime
  14. not this one Ernie, the old Mack V8 runs too good to take out, but I got my eye on a '81 Superliner with a factory installed 8v92.
  15. did you get Colliers log truck?
  16. Mikey's been cruising around town in it,I'm sure his neighbors all love the air starter by now. He's on his way up to scrounge for a 5" straight pipe.
  17. From all I've heard it was built as a joint venture. I get sick every time I hear it called a Volvo engine,of course I get sick evey time I hear the word Volvo.
  18. Yes Al,the bumper is nice, not perfect, but good enough for me. The hood is an easy patch,I was really pleased to see it had all 10 aluminum wheels. If it just wasn't so damn short!! I can't wait to run it across a scales,it's gotta be super light. It's got the all aluminum Hendrickson rubber block suspension.Mikey said it beat him to death driving it back to his place.
  19. It was probably best for you that you didn't Randy. They were supposed to meet my friend Larry at 8 am in town with the truck, but they didn't have it even unhooked from the trailer it was holding up,then they had to pump up 4 tires before driving it in town to load. It all ended up working out, just not like I'd hoped . Larry was bouncing home out of Branson and was done for the week,so he really wasn't upset they weren't more prepared,so it ended up a better deal for everyone this way.
