  1. I just bought a junk '89 Hawkeye Eagle grain trailer for the budd wheel axles to put under a '72 Transcraft flatbed that's been in the family since new. I've wanted to put alum. budds on it just to dress it up a little, plus bring the brakes up to date a little,as it still has the old style shoes. Also it has one wheel that I've fought to keep seals in. Anyway,I was really surprised to see when I got the rear wheels off (had to chain rear axle up to drag it home, not much left holding it in) that it had inboard drums. I figured by this late everything had outboard drums. Not that big a deal, since the brakes will last me forever no more than it gets used, but just kinda wonder if anyone else has run across these in the later equipment.
  2. The steering wheels should swap. If you are going to "old school" the 8LL,get your metal hi/lo splitter and put the deep reduction splitter valve on the dash, and then get a sparkly shift knob.
  3. That's hard to name one, several models looked damn classy when dolled up just right, LTL's,B model's,L cab B's,LJ's,H & G models,RL/RS 600 and 700's,FL/FS700's ,I've seen damn classy regular of R and F models, too and of course the Superliner
  4. Have you been to the new Vander Haag's in KC yet ??? I like dealing with them, they are old truck people, and have a hell of a collection of antiques at their home location of Sanborn,IA.
  5. If it's what I'm thinking of,that wasn't a replaceable element, just a screen that you took out and cleaned.Damned if I know where you could get a replacement,I'd just do away with it or replace it with a spin on filter if you think you need the 2nd filter.
  6. as far as exceeding the value of the truck,I'd rather have too much wrapped up in a R model Mack, than too much wrapped up in a newer Volvo,Freightliner,Pete,KW,etc. At least you will have a truck still good for many, many, many reliable years of service.
  7. I just sold an '86 R model,300,9 speed, trans. had problems, been sitting about same amount of time as yours, good rubber, but old, shorter wheelbase and steel budd wheels. I got $5k out of it. The place that bought it sprayed up the rims and frame, fixed the trans. and are asking $10950.
  8. I've got a set of stock E7 400 injectors a guy took out and replaced with some performance ones. There were good when taken out,I've had them along time .Let me know if they would be of interest to you.
  9. I don't think they are Mack, hubcap don't look right, but they are good shape.I could sure use the tires, but cost getting them here would kill that.
  10. Trying to get the older ones ready for the Old Threshers show next week in Mt.Pleasant,IA. Got the '46 Brockway fired up,the AC is being stubborn, took the mag off to be checked over, not getting spark.
  11. R690 means it is a Maxidyne 300. That B81 is nice, forget the R model and buy it.
  12. Polished aluminum air tank taken off a 2007 CHN613,has small dent on front, but not corroded and doesn't leak, one port on front,2 on side,6 on back, roughly 13 in. diameter and 30 in. long. The new one I bought to replace it and keep my fussy kid happy was over $500 Best reasonable offer.
  13. Nice takeoff bumper from a 2007 CHN613 set forward axle,I'm sure it fit's newer CHU's also, has foglights. Also have 2nd bumper in same condition without fog lights. These are $1200+ new from Mack,Will take best reasonable offer .
  14. PTO was taken off 2007 CHN613 with Mack T318 transmission.Only numbers I could find on it are the following 07 3K 1008. It has an aluminum case. Best reasonable offer.
  15. States have a totally different assigned number system, that's definitely a factory VIN #
  16. There are two guys that have stuff here at my place going to PA,you might try PM'ing them and maybe you could all work out a package deal getting your stuff home. Dodgeman has a set of rear ends and PANELIZER has a dead CH613,I bet it would all fit on one load,I'm not all that far from St.Louis, you might even be able to talk Ken into bringing the H63 here,I would be happy to babysit for any amount of time.longer the better.
  17. I've never measured but I'm sure the dimensions are the same, but there are slight differences.
  18. I've never had trouble borrowing money for 5 years on used.
  19. nice find,Vinny, especially since they are a matching set.I hunted along time to fine a set of 1921 Iowa plates for my AC.
