  1. Livestock hauling this week. With Dad's 2010 Rawhide with little brother Jim's '06 Vision got to pull the "new" to us '08 Wilson yesterday.
  2. If I had a dollar for every ton of freight hauled by & still being hauled by an "underpowered" 237 Maxidyne, I would be debt free, restore every truck I own and build the buildings to store them, purchase Mack from Volvo and still have enough left to bail our country out of the mess Obama has gotten us into. The 237 is probably the best engine ever made by anyone, period. The only thing underpowered is today's mindset that you have to have 400 + hp to move anything.
  3. yep and I I remember right, sold for about the same money
  4. Bill Johnson just posted the complete price list,on the ATHS website, car prices too.I'd forgot to ask the auctioneers about the B-68,it brought $3000
  5. The AC brought $51,000 The EF brought $18,000 The LJ brought $18,000 The twin engine DT brought $10,000
  6. you going to hunt up a 8V92 and put it back original??
  7. if I ain't mistaken, that's one that was on a purplewave or some such auction awhile back, same company had a pair of the ex-haliburton 700's and a green R797 with a crane on it. I do believe a member here got the R797.
  8. That's a pretty early one with the high hood. You better scoop it up. Looks like it has the early version of the 6 speed, also.
  9. it's amazing that the emblems hadn't been robbed off the hood and the hubcaps are still on it. They used a smaller version of the Mack bulldog a a hood ornament, with Mack Jr. on the collar. These are really hard to find and I've seen them go from $350 to $500 on Ebay. The same size dog was also used on Mack ashtrays and also fender poles and they turn up on Ebay a lot ,not near as high priced, but they don't have Jr. on the collar.I used to have a couple of the Mack Jr. dogs somewhere in my collection of goodies.
  10. I haven't run into too much that you can't still get,but 99% of the time,at least at my Mack dealer, they have to order it in. I've bought a lot of stuff for my Superliners off Ebay, too.
  11. Personally,I liked the interiors in the older ones('78 to '84) better.I liked the diamond tucked upholstery, and there was a wider choice of colors.
  12. the hi-rise Able with the windows was called the "Penthouse" sleeper, and I think it first became available around '86 or '87..I think it was 66",too,instead of 60".
  13. you sure do find some cool stuff
  14. Since you drive a Pete(very brave of you to admit this in public,I might add) it is very understandable that you want to upgrade to a Superliner, there are some good ones out there for sale, watch the ads on Truckpaper, but finding one with a 60 " Able is getting very, very tough. Not impossible, but they are very few and far between. Good luck and welcome.
  15. if that bumper is aluminum, and is as straight as at looks,it and the 2 aluminum tanks are worth $1500
  16. generic,,I've pretty well gotta "customize" it,gonna put a 4" to 5" adapter under the cab and use 5 " elbows, then use 6" pipes,as they fill the cut out in the sleeper better.
  17. Mine's definitely temporary, picked up the y-pipe today
  18. looks good, like the full fenders
  19. They said it was a '96 and the w.b. was 305"
  20. I remember an article in the delivered section of Bulldog about a big order of Valueliner dump trucks with 6V92's going to either a county or state road dept. out west somewhere.
  21. Mark, That one was for sale awhile back in western,IA,supposedly real low miles and pretty big $$$.Cummins powered if I remember right, don't know where it ended up.
  22. Thanks for all the comments, guys. It sure went back together a lot slower than it tore down. The 8 ft. pipe is another temporary, I'm pretty sure when I go to duals I'm going to put miter cuts on,and about a foot shorter.I'm 12'8" now,and have one place I unload at GPC with a 11'8" clearance. Not a big deal, but sometimes when they open it up,you can get out of there an hour or so quicker. Gotta go dig thru the trailers and find a license plate hanger now. It's only 86 today,so maybe I'll only sweat half my ass off.
  23. Kinda hard to believe it's the same truck Before After
  24. All shined up for tomorrow's parade at Chief Wapello Day's
