  3. Pretty sure they started calling them E9's in '81,they had the E9 400 and E9 440,that was the same year the Econodyne E6 engines started.
  4. Vinny will want one of those cabs.
  5. only thing that would worry me is that no better care than looks like has been given to the truck, how much care and maintenance has the components recieved.$4500 is cheap, but not for something that's been rode hard and put away wet.
  6. my guess is that he rigged that up to feed it more air
  7. what did you do with your old pipes?
  8. I think you are right,Ernie
  9. Just picked Lilly up from her trip and was looking thru her pics,no AC Mack as I already knew, but what was there in the Smithsonsian for the whole world to see???????????????? A GD Werner Enterprises Peterbilt!!!!! No wonder this country is so screwed up.
  10. It's a pain in the ass,but I had to remove all the spacer tabs in the clutch on my B83 to keep it from slipping.By the way,I looked at the pic of your F in the registry enrty, nice looking truck.Did you guys swap the Cummins in?
  11. Guys, please remember to take lots of pics and post them here often for us poor bastards that have to stay home. You all have fun,I'll be there in spirit.
  12. That sounds about right, they buy alot of stuff at the monthly US Auctioneers auction also and always at least double the price
  13. it was donated for permanent display in 1963.
  14. Is there no longer an AC Mack on display in Washington,DC??? My daughter was there yesterday as part of a school trip and I told her the only thing I wanted her to get me was a pic of her standing beside the AC.She searched the entire day they were there and asked at the info booth and nobody knew what she was talking about. I suppose Obama pawned it!!!!!!
  15. They musta just got that one in,hadn't seen it before. If you come any farther west when you pick it up,holler.
  16. several years ago my brother was helping me tow bar home a '41 EM,I was steering the truck and kept hearing some low pitched buzzing noise. After about 15 miles we stopped to check the chains and when I got out of the truck,I could hear it louder, come to find out,the driver's seat cushion had a hornets nest and I'd been sitting on it .Didn't take me long to pitch it in the ditch.
  17. I remember that article well.If I remember right, there was an article about a trade school restoring a B61 in the same issue
  18. The best thing to do is unbolt the steering box from the frame.
  19. sounds like we need to talk sometime
  20. They made a version of the RD called the "Western Contractor" that had an aluminum grille, but not the same Western grille as the Vaule Liners ad true Western trucks I've got one someplace.
  21. Last I knew Jack Sharkey was the principle owner of Quincy Mack.I think he has interest in the IH dealer too as STI's sister company,SISBRO,runs alot of IH's and some Mack's too.
  22. That's the way they were made, ribs on the inside.
  23. looks to me you have a late model R600 hood,up until 90-91 regular R models and RD's shared the same hood.Since that was over 20 years ago, most parts guys will assume when you say you have a RD,it will be the sloped "uglier" style used from '91 to '04
  24. you know,Travis, since you got a new kid on the way and all, maybe you should just send that one to Iowa.
