  4. We picked this up today between rains,36" Double Eagle crawl thru sleeper, single cutout, off a '80 Valueliner that only had 220k original miles.Hated to see the guy take it off,but at least I got the sleeper instead of the scrapyard. I thinkI've definately found the color and design I want to put on the RS795 now.

  9. I've got a couple of the smaller Lanova's for parts ,one is complete and still in what's left of a truck, just the way I got it,cab, fenders, part orf a frame, engine & trans.,the other is incomplete, old block and at least one head, block has been outside, don't know if it could be salvaged or not.
  10. Knock on wood, the "new" Rawhide we bought at Flag City has been performing great.Grease and oil change is all we've had to do to it,hasn't seen our local dealer's shop yet.The bill's from Iowa 80 and JP Chrome,on the other hand have been pretty substantial.
  11. It makes me wonder, especially since he wants to get rid of the Triplex,if in fact he is shifting it right??45 mph would be about right for 5th direct.Someone not familiar with the way a Triplex shifts, would not be used to the aux. pattern(around the corner then up to the dash)especially if they were only used to a modern transmission shift pattern.Just a thought.
  12. The 21LS is your basic L model fire chassis but it is powered by the Hall-Scott engine, same way the B-21 fire trucks are also Hall-Scott powered.
  13. sorry,no,only one I had is on the '83 that I sold.
  14. Looks great, can't wait for further progress.
  15. we used to shoot rats too, when we ran outta rats we shot old bottles and cans
  16. wonder how long the stack stayed yellow??
  17. I'm sure glad we had a city dump when I was growing up,not a landfill.Never had to worry about getting run over by a bulldozer while looking for treasures.
  18. never seen a 6:67 ratio before, they'll work, but it will be pretty slow, even if you have an overdrive transmission
  19. maybe if he carried barbed wire in his back pockets
  20.
