  1. to my knowledge they were all Cummins powered, that's why there was only the one model of the W series made.
  2. that the one Jack Hess had for sale?
  3. I've got a NOS 36" Able,but it's only cut for a single stack.
  4. They've owned that truck since the late '60's,it's a '63,originally had a 711,has a 237 with a 15 speed Triplex, they added the sleeper and tag axle in the early '70's.It is a beautiful original.
  5. that VIN # is not for a '87.
  6. Don't know,Matt.Hoping this pic might jog somebody's memory.
  7. alot of good stuff got buried way back when.North of Morning Sun,there's an old steam engine buried on a friends farm, and there's supposed to be 3 or 4 AC Macks buried in an old sand pit near Muscatine.
  8. Nothing cooler than a Superliner pulling a bullrack My first Superliner,'85 RW613-001114,wish I still had it. Dad's(now mine)'85 when it was nearly new, before bunk was added. my '87 Freedom Edition
  9. one of my son's friends likes to "enhance" pics, I guess you would call it.Kinda cool how they turn out.
  10. This is the one,or half of one that was on Theimer's auction. This is the one from New Mexico The former Bill Reasoner truck from KS don't know too much about this one other than the owner had it posted on the old Yahoo Mack Cabovers group,he'd just bought it,think it was around 7 years ago. this one was taken at Bob Brown's several years ago, can't remember where I found the pic.Evidently it was borrowed from Hank's.
  11. That's a cool story, love the old cattle hauler pics. So the gray W71 that was on the back of Dr. Bill's trailer was your green one??
  12. I hope you put a nice bunk on at least one of them. Those floaters look good on them.
  13. Nice looking truck, would have made me a little nervous pulling that steep of a grade, though
  14. That's pretty wide open depending on what you wanted to do and who you have do it.
  15. I really need to move this truck.$18500.
  16. For Sale: 1940 Mack BX with low side dump body, former State of Iowa highway dept. truck.Needs totally restored or use for parts.Cab is very, very rough.24" budd wheels. Will come with 2 additional trucks for parts,a BF and a BG,both tractors.Price is negotiable,I will consider all offers.Pics will follow later this weekend.
  17. That pic of my truck was taken before I bought it,I'm pretty sure that's Lora Madden sitting in the chair, plus I took those lighted mirrors off and put Bulldog ones on pretty much right after I got it in Nov.'08.
  18. The blue one belongs to my friend Chad Udelhoven from Newton. He was in a wreck several years ago and is confined to a wheelchair,he has converted this truck to an automtic with hand controls and has a wheelchair lift on the right side so he can drive it. This white one belonged to Chad's brother Bill,E9-500 with a 9 speed, they sold it awhile back, went to Ohio I think.
  19. This one belongs to a friend of mine,it's one of the last Superliner I 's built, titled as an '85,h'e's owned it since '87 or '88,used to have a 60" Weldon sleeper.Originally a E9-440, with a 2 stick 12 speed, has a slightly tweaked E9-500 and an air 12 speed now,3:65's on Neway. He pulls a end dump and belly dump with it.
  20. Here's a few that got awayfrom me and now are no more. This one was in a junkyard in Des Moines, they wanted way too much, ended up scrapped. This one was in a scrapyard in MO,they were supposed to be saving it for me,owner got hurt and they scrapped it while he was gone, had a good 350 and Neway, hood was good,R model cab was just sitting on the frame. This one was at Vander Haag's in Des Moines, pretty decent, near new frame rails, thought I had it bought but someone came along and needed an engine bad,so they parted it out.
  21. The very last B model made was a tri-drive B-57.It was for sale in WOT a few years back.
  22. no doubt,I'm pretty sure the UPS F model in the museum is the same one that did a million miles without an overhaul. My buddy that hauled my Oklahoma Superliner home just parked his '97 CH the first of the year,he bought it new,1.7 million miles, heads or pan never removed, original clutch, trans never touched, just recently had the power divider rebuilt, only work ever on the rear ends.E7-427,T2130B,3:86 Mack rears. He pulled a dropdeck and RGN,mostly oversize stuff,48 states. He got a new Rawhide now.
  23. back in the day,it was pretty common practice to inframe a 237 or 300 at 400 to 500k,but you gotta remember these engines were turning 2000 to 2100 most of the time, the way they were geared
