  1. probably either took a boat ride to Africa or got kitted into R models or some of both.
  2. What's nearly impossible is trying to get up off the floor when you roll off the seats in the middle of the night and get wedged between the 2 sticks and the seats.Been there, done that.
  3. I had a wooden box between the seats of my '76 R model and I carried a bottom cushion from a junked Bostrom seat that fit just perfect. That was 28 years and a couple hundered lbs. ago.
  4. that's an Iowa truck now,it's in the Iowa 80 collection
  5. From what I've seen,the B63's were usually a little heavier spec than a B61.Most I've ever seen were either dumps,lowboy tractors,or set up with oilfield winchbeds.Mine has44k rears,and a duplex with factory 3 speed Brownie.
  6. most of them are tube,it has a mix of 10:00x20,a couple 9:00x20,1 11:00x20 and 1 or 2 11R22.5,it had a nice set of tires on it and the guy kept them for his new truck & put whatever he could find to hold it up.I'll look again but I think a guy could get by with the front tires, they are older 10:00x20's,but decent tread and they are matched,it will need at least 6,most likey all 8 drive tires.
  7. I was talking about this other AB that kmeitz posted.
  8. That's a pretty early AB,was it still owned by your family,Ron?? I see it must have had a rear axle translant sometime,as the rear wheels are budds. I never get tired of pics of that F715T of Yarnall's either.
  9. Is that a recabbed BM or BX tractor hooked to the milk trailer?Very interesting truck. Would you mind if I posted the Brockway pics on the Brockway site?
  10. They are all beautiful trucks, bet you wish they would have tucked one or 2 away in the barn years ago.
  11. isn't that one pictured in the 2nd to last pic a AB?
  12. Thanks for sharing those, which was the first Mack in the fleet??
  13. SE Iowa
  14. '76 F786ST,no engine or trans,4:17 Mack rears on Camelback, fairly long wheelbase. This cab is far from mint, but it's not rusted to hell either.A good body man could save this cab easily. As hard as F model stuff is to find, this would be a good candiate for someone wanting to build one or use it for parts. It does have a title.$2000 OBO
  15. I've had some plans change and need to thin the heard a little more so going to offer some trucks up for sale here first before I go to Ebay or Craigslist First one is a '77 R685ST,ENDT675 Maxidyne,237 hp,runs good,5 speed transmission, power steering,4:17 Mack rears on camelback.Cab is very solid, only rust hole is on right side bottom corner, hood is not very nice, been crudely patched.Chassis is extremely clean, tires are junk. This truck has approx.300k actual miles, was used as a spotter/city tractor most of its life.A very good canidate for restoration or work truck.I drove this truck home about 100 miles, and other than the poor, mismatched tires giving a bad ride,it drove fine. Asking $6000 OBO. 2nd up for sale is a '71 R685ST,ENDT675 Maxidyne,237 hp.,5 speed, power steering,4:17 mack rears on Camelback,Cab and hood are really nice, interior is nice ,this is a really clean '71.Drives nices, tires are junk.Starts and runs but has I'm guessing a bad piston.I drove it home 15 miles, but there is alot of blowby and unburnt diesel coming out of the stack. As nice as the rest of the truck is,it's worthy of fixing or replacing the engine.Asking $6000 OBO 3rd is a '81 R686ST,ENDT676 Maxidyne,283 hp.,2 stick six speed, power steering,4:17 Mack rears on Camelback, tires are junk, cab is rusted beyond repair,no doors, hood is decent, has repairable crack, runs and actually drives good, but not safe for road as is.Has budd front wheels, spoke rear. Also has alum. fuel tanks.I was going to recab it and even bought a replacement cab,but unfortunately it was damaged recently by the scrapper I had hauling off a few offbreeds.I will include it with this truck if wanted,it got hit in the left windshield post, damaging it,the cowl and left door.Asking $3000 OBO.Please note, this is an old pic,the doors ,visor and alum.front wheels are no longer on the truck. 4th is a '68 R685ST,ENDT675 Maxidyne,237 hp,5 speed,4:17 Mack rears on Camelback,This one as the '81 above was a fertilizer truck, cab is almost gone.I bought it several years ago to save from the scrapper,it did run good,I drove it home, but I haven't had it started for along time.I used the original hood, but there's a later model decent hood the comes with it.$1500 OBO Don't be afraid to make me offers. All trucks have titles. Relisting due to deadbeat tirekicker backing out on deal.
  16. Maybe I should start charging people who stop here and take pictures.Might make more money than truckin' for a living.
  17. I'd go with a 2 stick 6 speed.finding a p/s set up shouldn't be any trouble,I'll look at t he steering box on my '75 RS and see if I canfind a numberfor you.
  18. A friend of mine from Des Moines bought one of these Oshkosh's on a internet gov't auction, they were used for hauling missiles. His was extremely clean and low miles.KTA 600 Cummins, automatic, all wheel drive. He drove it to one of our Central Iowa Chapter meetings last year and the following week it was stolen from his truck yard in Bondurant.Luckily he had survailence cameras and it showed the truck being loaded on a lowboy pulled by a Pete 362.Through some detective work by his nephew and a stroke of luck, they were able to locate the truck some 120 miles east in a small town SW of Dubuque. The roof had been chopped off to clear underpasses on the way to the theif's home,so the truck was pretty much ruined. After they found the truck,it took quite awhile to get cooperation from the local law,but the truck was finally recovered, along with several other stolen items. The theif's fate is still pending,go figure.
  19. Don't know the truck, but do know the seller well, nice guy, likes to buy trucks out west and bring them home, clean them up a little and sell them.Kinda blinded by $$$$ I guess,he's had some real nice stuff over the years.
  20. you'd better bring her along next time you come up to visit.
  21. personally,I think it depends on the truck.
  22. You sure that's not an Ice Road Trucker's emergency escape pod????LOL
  23. A local farmer used to have one of these IH's with a grain box, always thought it was cool as hell, and wanted to get ahold of it,but it disappeared.
