  3. he was on a road trip today,he was going to stop in,but his plans changed.
  4. the number was stamped on the frame behind the rear spring hanger,up towards the top of the rail, most of the time on the right side, but have seen it on the left, too. This was a very bad spot as alot of times the frame was shortened or lengthened and the number was lost,or covered up.later in the '50's they started stamping the frames near the front axle.
  5. I don't have mine handy, but isn't there a list of the vendors in the ATHS Showtime book??

  7. Maybe someone with a better memory can add to this, but there was a story a long time back in either Double Clutch or Wheels of Time about a guy that took a Scania powered MB tractor and a tiltbed trailer on a 1000 mile plus trip after a load of decorative stone,in the winter.
  8. the transmission on my son's Rawhide went out at 485,000.I'm still fighting Mack over that.
  9. Yes I am,because Superliners look naked without sleepers.
  10. Sent my son and his buddies to Farmington,IL yesterday to pick up the sleeper I bought from sm54 awhile back.It will look good on my '88.Got a new set of vents ordered for it and my '85 tonite. Can't wait to get it put on,I'd forgot how much driving a day cab sucks.
  11. an E9 is about 2000 lbs heavier than a E6
  12. Yes I am.Started back just before Christmas. Wasn't able to locate a replacement truck that suited Jr. so he's driving my big blue Superliner and I bought a day cab Superliner locally and I'm running it until we find something he likes. 1988 RW613,E6-350,T2090,black level 3 interior,4:42 Mack rears on Neway air ride,212" w.b.,346,000 one owner miles.
  13. SF-3 is a Stromberg #,and they are a very pricy carb to work on.My EF has that same carb and I needed a new float for it,only one I could find was like $700,just for the float.
  14. Nothing at all to be ashamed about there,Dan.I'm happy to have located them for you & glad to see you got them, definately going to a good home.
  15. which one did you end up with,Dan??
  16. tell him to give it a new paint job and you'll give him 10k.Looks clean and solid as a rock.Worst part about it though is the 24" rubber ,very expensive and hard to find when you need to replace it.
