  1. I've got another B model that Mike Pagel picked up for me years ago from one of his contacts in the towing business up there,it had been abandoned in a alley. Also have the cream colored '65 that was originally a HJ Mohr? tractor and the remains of it's twin sister.
  2. Yep,B613LST with a B421 hood.
  3. Got an email today from Dale at the Museum confirming my new AC,chassis # 733693,was built in 1921 and was part of a group of 16 AC firetrucks ordered by the Chicago Fire Dept.,it was delivered to them on Dec.14th 1921. Those guys at the museum are awesome.

  6. so much for the tractor, tell us about the driver
  7. They don't show the bidders name or location on those auctions, but as I recall it brought less than $3k.
  8. "George's Tonka Toy",I don't know.He added that radiator later, when it was first restored,it had a chrome shell if I remember right,it might have been painted.
  9. http://trucker.com/N...3&sfvc4enews=42 Good job Jeanette and Larry!!!Sure glad somebody talked you into entering that first show at Walcott.
  10. When the B model was introduced in 1953,Mack continued the LJ in the heavy duty version until 1956 when the B80 series were started. Most of these later LJ's had the cast iron radiator.
  11. I've seen pics and videos of it before, the truck is in Holland or Belgium and has been repowered with a Detroit Diesel,8V71 and automatic transmission.Looks like a ballast box on it,so I'd say it was a pull or push truck in a heavy haul company.
  12. I've tried and tried,Brad.What more can I do?
  13. well guys, met with the scrapper today and marked stuff so the sale is over. thanks to those few that saved some of the trucks.
  14. I sold the shift lever, tower and linkage off that truck awhile back, sorry.
  15. Matt, you used those 3 words we don't say about Macks.
  16. sheet metal grille shell as opposed to the external cast iron radiator tanks
  17. what year is the cab, how's the interior?
  18. Do you have any pics of the truck after it was wrecked? Can't remember how long ago,but I remember a day cab Freedom on one of the insurance salvage auction sites.
  19. There ain't much that pisses me off more when somebody says a B model is too far gone.the SOB is all there, and way more than I had to work with on my first one and it's only $1000.Instead of running the truck down, just say that" it's beyond my ability to work with" or "more work than I want to do".
  20. You better plan on keeping it till the wheels fall off.
