  1. I had a '74 tandem tractor like that a few years back.427,5x2 with air tag.Had to buy it to get the trailer it was hooked to.What little I drove it I could sure tell it liked gas,alot.Traded it to a friend of mine for a '74 MB685T Mack.
  2. My B46 was a B46S,twin screw,flathead 401 with a 14 speed quad,heavy rears,frame and front axle,standard cab.From what I've been able to find out,it was a mixer chassis.
  3. The H63 was built from '54 to '58,they do share a few L cab parts,doors are similar.The W71 was built from '53 to'55 and also shared a few L cab parts.These trucks are rare with only 215 produced and only 8 or so known to be left. This is my '54 W71T.
  4. first ones a H63,2nd is a W71.I've got pics somewhere of that same W71 in the brush somewhere.
  5. your engine is most likely a 711 that's been turbocharged,then if it's a C609

I've never minded people looking in my trucks and up until this year,have never had a problem.This year at the Old Thresher's show,someone stole the key out of my '46 Brockway.After trying ever key Mikey,myself and another friend had,we finally found one that would work(EZ-Go golf cart key).Had a copy of it made,so saved buying a new ignition switch,but still the whole deal really pissed me off.The key ring had an old brass tag size of a half dollar,stamped #20 Brock,left over from it's working days,kinda hated to lose that.
  7. Check your VIN number,they made a C611 which would have had the turbocharged ENDT673C.If so,you have a rare one,only 16 of those made.
  8. Steve, There's nothing '86 about that red R model.look at the front hubs,fuel tanks,hood,Bulldogs on the doors.'75 or '76 I'd say.
  9. If you can get it for $50 or less,you should.Good trading stock if nothing else.They aren't that rare,200-300 is way out of line,hate to see it get scrapped.
  10. good luck with it,but I've got to warn you,once you've driven a Superliner,nothing else will do,I've tried 3 different CH's,had a '91 set back 42" bunk,400,13 speed,loved the engine and tranny,hated the truck,put up with it for 2 yrs.,traded it for a new '97 set forward axle day cab,427,13 speed,better but still not a Superliner.Had it 2 years,sold it to my brother and went back to a '74 F model till I found my '87 Superliner,drove it 4 years until the double frame started giving me problems,bank wouldn't loan me money to re-rail it,so I bought a '99 set back,50" condo,427,13 speed.It was actually pretty decent,but I have absolutely no regrets parking it when my '86 showed up for sale.

  12. Those first 350's were called a ENDT678 if I remember right,but shortly after renamed as a E6-350.First one I was around was in a '80 Cruiseliner demonstrator that our dealer was passing around to it's customers.
  13. unscrew the end cap off your series parallel switch and hold the plunger in to see if it cranks.
  14. a 237 is the ENDT675 Maxidyne engine,and while they will work with a Duplex,Triplex,or Quad,they were designed to be used with the 5 and 6 speed Maxitorque transmissions.One of if not the best engine Mack ever designed. A 250 is the ENDT673C Thermodyne engine,rated at 250 hp,with a operating range of 1500 to 2100 RPM,these were better suited to the B model transmissions. Most of the time,what's referred to as a "300" is actually the ENDT676 Maxidyne rated at 283 hp.These had a tip turbine fan and intercooler set up,andlike the 237 were designed to be used with the 5 and 6 speed transmissions.These engines were available starting in 1973. An actual 300 hp engine was introduced in 1980-81 as the E6-300,this was considered an Econodyne engine,with the front mounted air to air aftercooler.
  15. looks really nice,kinda glad to see others that don't care for the green interior.It's OK for a green truck,or even white,but it sure clashes with other colors.

  19. Yes,'73 and up R,U and '72 and up F model all used the same vertical mounted in dash radio.The piece was black plastic with M A C K in large block letters on it.
