  1. For as tired as the paint is on the old girl,it does take a helluva pic.Getting the rims painted& the chrome hubcaps & lugnut caps did alot for it.
  2. Trying out my new camera. Here's some pics of the G73 since we got the wheels painted . Headliner replaced, also.
  3. Not saying it can't be done, but the MB engines were mounted at a slant, you'll have a little more parts changing to do than if you found one out of an R,DM,U etc.
  4. I've got several of the Mack script wrenches.I'd like to see a complete list as to what all was made. Also have a ball peen hammer and pliers that I carry with me and use daily.
  5. I can't remember where I read about it,but it was in the owners family for many years, abandoned and vandalized, before he rebuilt and customized it.It's called the "Millenium Mack"
  6. Vinny, I'm not computer smart enough to post a link, but check out the truck paper ads, search 1982 R686.
  7. Vinny, I bet if you explained to your Mom that Brockway only turns 100 once and that this is a real once in a lifetime deal ,that she might change her mind.I sure wish I was closer so I could be there.
  8. One set good used fiberglass CH doors, will also fit MH,complete with stainless mirrors and brackets.$600 OBO.
  9. For Sale, one used Lund fiberglass sunvisor for CH,will trade for one for R model.
  10. Door looks good,Vinny. You'll be done before you know it. I put new brakes, cam bushings, slack adjusters and tires on the back drive axle of my Superliner yesterday.Going to do the front drive next week, too damn hot to do both.Found one cracked aluminum rim, luckily I had another, but it needs polished.I cleaned it up best I could and put it on for now.
  11. That B-75 looks like the one from the L&H Trucking auction,it brought some pretty serious $$ as I recall.
  12. that's a classy collection, going to definately have to see that place someday.
  13. I've never been able to find out how many EQU's were built with sleepers, but it is the only one I've ever run across,in pics or real life.Seen a few EHU sleepers, but no EQU's.Also the only Mack 5th wheel I've ever seen with Mack in the pedastals as well as the plate. It came to Iowa in the early '80's from Louisana,my late friend Mike Pagel purchased it from the 2nd owner, along with a single axle Fruehauf bunker blower reefer of the same vintage. It was being used by the owners of a small produce market.I traded Mike out of it about a year before he was killed and it went from his barn right into mine.Wish I coulda got the trailer with it,but he wanted it to put behind an old Diamond T.It had the Fruehauf "differential dual" set up,very rare to see today.Hard to explain without pics, but the tires would spin independently on the same hub.
  14. Sure wish I coulda stuck around longer to visit, but then you probably wouldn't have gotten home very early.Hopefully you can come up again when we both have more time.
  15. I'm guessing they would have tried H&L Mack and NAPA,but I've had good luck getting odd filters from NAPA.They used that big canister on several engines for years, somebody's gotta still make cartridges.
  16. did you try Tyler at Truck Repair?
  17. I went and looked at an old R model for sale one time, guy said it had a 250 and a 15 speed.Figured it was a 673C with a Triplex.Come to find out it was a R model cab & hood on a 9000 ford chassis,250 Cummins mounted on a slant,15 speed Fuller. It was titled as a Reconstructed Mack.
  18. You shouldve called if you were in Iowa, I couldve fixed you up with a head bolt
  19. Had to change water pump, manifold, thermostat housing, aftercooler, and radiator.
  20. It turned out great, made a different truck out of it.We ended up using a radiator out of another Mack powered Superliner, had a radiator shop move the bottom inlet and plumb a bung for a return line, then we modified the top hose, doesn't look too bad.Now it runs 180 90% of the time, hottest I've had it was 195 in a hard pull.Temps here have been in the 90's and up to 107 so I think it's doing wonderful compared to the way it was. Bruce M stopped by to visit and check out the G73 while we were at Walcott,I told him what we'd done and he approved. He gave me a few more suggestions to try.I may get this ol' Cummins to pull like a Mack someday afterall.
