  1. Actually they aren't setback, the front of the hood was extended to clear to ATAAC.
  2. That old commercial would probably not be considered politically correct nowadays, would it?
  3. Thanks everybody.Been pretty interesting day so far.Started out a 12:30 am getting a call from Mikey saying he got stuck trying to get turned around where he was to load at 4am.Piss poor place for a brand new hog building.Graveled path just wide enough for a truck, square corners, out in the middle of a sand field,no lights. It was luckily only 30 miles from home so I took his Dodge and tow strap up and got him pulled out.Just got back from hauling a couple load of corn to the ethanol plant, throwed a belt on the grain vac loading my second load so had to tear it apart and get a new belt, that killed most of my morning. They were only place open today, and just till noon,so I only got the 2 loads in.Think I'm going to go play in the back yard the rest of the day.
  4. The first U models were built in '64.There were 729 U615's built from '64 to '71.
  5. Decent looking old Cruiseliner. If anyone in here buys it,I have some good Cruiseliner fuel tanks, looks like the right one on this truck gotta little close to something.
  6. There was some of everything, a chain drive AC,E models,A models,L models,H models,G models,F models,B models,U models,R models.i need to find someone that has pictures as it was a once in a lifetime deal.All my film got ruined,unfortunately.Had I been a rich man I would have bought them all,but I was only able to save a few,this N61,a G753,a B20,a EGU,and 2 truck loads of misc.parts.
  7. I found the remains of a registration in the truck,it apparently was owned by a Owner/operator and leased to Aetna.I know nothing of the company at all.
  8. Here's a pic of the whole truck.I bought it out of a junkyard in IL that was being crushed out back in '95.40 acres of nothing but trucks, teens to the '70's,lotta neat stuff was crushed.Anyway, the N61 had 1966 plates and was showing 381k.It had been there a long time.never could get any of the wheels to roll, steering column is froze tight. It'd take a fortune to restore, but I'd never seen another in person at the time and couldn't let it go away forever.
  9. Nice looking truck, but they shouldn't have let an IH dealer paint it.That 4300 paint job doesn't look right on it at all.
  10. Got the EF out to start getting ready for show/parade season, and once again having ignition problems.Replaced points and condensor again, still no luck, gotta coil coming this week.Thinking really strong about putting in a Pertronix kit, anyone have any experience with them?If so do they make them for 6 volt + ground,or should I rewire it to 12 volt -?It 's getting real aggravating that one of my nicest trucks won't start & run.
  11. There was some N model discussion on ATHS,and I mentioned the "air shift" Triplex that's in mine. Here are some pics.
  12. good job.I'll have to do a video tour of my yard someday.
  13. Interesting that the IH has tubeless wheels and the WF tube type, your Dad must not have fixed his own tires.
  14. If you can't find one close,I have several.
  15. Iowa 80 has started to stock alot more Mack stuff as of late.
  16. Wish we would have thought to take pics when we used that truck to load the old AC.
  17. Hey Vinny, It's got your Canadian battery box lids. That's not a bad price on either.

I drove this 1974 RS686LST of Vitalis' at :47 one time.Sweet old truck.almost bought it but couldn't come up with the extra cash at the time.Last I knew a former Vitalis driver had it.
  20. no,it was on Ebay about a year ago or so.it's still sitting at a friend of mine's place in Des Moines, waiting for me to get it home. The one on Craigslist was real similar, but it had a 335 Cummins and the drivers door was half primered.
  21. Awhile back there was a post about E9 powered Cruiseliners,I looked back a ways, couldn't find it.Anyway,I mentioned that the pre E9 V8,ET1000 Maxidyne V8 was introduced in '79 or so and the Cruiseliners they were in had a different grille. Finally found a pic of one I had saved, think this one was one Ebay maybe, several years ago.
