  1. Anybody ever seen a Mack steam engine????
  2. That's great to hear he's still with us.Someone should do a writeup on Marv for Double Clutch.
  3. That was posted on ATHS awhile back by Jeff L.,1941 QA,only one built.
  4. Name: GrayR795 Date Added: Owner: Superdog Superdog
  5. Farr air cleaner, used alot on the R700's with V8's also popular on Detroit powered trucks
  6. Got the pics, that's a RB(set back axle) cab & hood,Cab might work on a straight R,too.I show my neighbor the pics and let you know as soon as I can.
  7. Ernie,I have a decent 70 gal.tank.I'll measure the diameter if you are interested.
  8. The B21 firetrucks have a longer hood than the B71,they also use the fender filler panels like a B73/75.
  9. I only had the pleasure of meeting Marv Comer one time.It was at the Walcott show,91 or 92.We visited for a few hours,he told me the story of his B-37,only one built. At that time,he said he had between 200 and 300 trucks.Super nice guy to visit with.
  10. In 79 or so,the ETCX1000 was introduced,400 hp V8,predecessor to the E9.There was a Cruiseliner on Ebay awhile back with this engine. The grille was different on thse trucks.Instead of the stamped one piece aluminum grille,it a 4 piece frame with a grille densor. These weren't the same as the facelift grille on the Macungie built Cruiseliners, totally different. There's a pic of one in the 3rd 1/4 1979 Bulldog.
  11. There used to be a bunch of Macks around here set up like that,R's,U's,DM's,even MB's and F models. Now everything you see are Terra-gators,etc,no trucks conversions anymore. The guy I bought my first F model from had a pair of F model floaters, they had triplexes with 4th and 5th gear blocked out.Wish I would've took more pics when I was younger.
  12. can you email me some pics?I have a neighbor that might be interested
  13. How long has Marv been gone?I can't remember seeing a single thing about him dying anywhere.I would have thought that would have been a major Double Clutch article. how about sharing some pics,Doug.
  14. I know what you mean.I had a '76 R model I put a Superliner interior in,sure beat the bare metal doors.
  15. I know I have weird taste, but I like what someone did here.
  16. Maufacturer's Statement of Origin, what the factory gives you to get a title issued from.
  17. Had to run to Des Moines yesterday,in no hurry for a change so I cut across country on the way home to check on some old trucks I used to see before the 4 lane went in.They aren't in use anymore, but still there. The B61 wrecker and R795(it's a straight R with a Western grille) wrecker were his front line units before hydraulics and wheel lifts took over. The tractor has a Unishift trans.
  18. The reason they went to the air switch instead of the 2nd stick, was the MH.There was no provisions for a 2 stick set up the way the shift lever/tower was designed.
  19. Congrats on getting some shots in,wish I could get that close to the bastards that's been ripping me off.
  20. you know that's pretty damn sad when thats all a husband/father's dreams are worth to his surviors is scrap.
  21. Check Ebay, hardly a week goes by there isn't at least one set of the older half dogs on there.
