  1. That LJ of Jerry Howard's used to belong to Howard Bell.It has a twin turbo 475 Cummins stuffed under that hood.
  2. A U615 has the END864 V-8 Thermodyne. The DY is a typo,i'm guessing as it should be ST.If you look at your keyboard,D is right next to S and Y is right next to T.It would be the 305th U615 made, not 305th U model in general.
  3. I said worse than that,Vinny. It's pretty aggravating when people take it upon themselves to not only trespass, but to destroy and steal other people's property. One thing about it,these kinda lowlifes are usually pretty good at running off at the mouth,so I do have hopes of someday catching up with them.
  4. Well,I guess it's going to a good cause, but that donor truck has to be rare as hen's teeth.Shame it's going to be cut up.
  5. Alot depends on when they were sold,a '72 might have been sold and titled in '73.They didn't do it like now, titling as 2012 when still 2011.
  6. All of my A54's have the EN510 Thermodyne gas engine,I'd be certain yours does too.I might have a extra hood if you'd want to trade so I still had something to cover up the engine.
  7. That's a really good question Josh, when did they quit offering the BCR kits??
  8. I've seen them sell for that much apiece.Crazy, yes, for that kinda money I'd think someone would be reproducing them.
  9. Vinny, don't worry, the '65 U is here at home, and so far I've never had any trouble with my stuff here. But I was at my other place this past week and found some SOB busted the windshield out of an old F model parked there. That really pissed me off,it was a perfect tinted windshield, rest of the truck is rusted to nothing, but the glass was good.
  10. I wish you luck,I'd keep your truck for awhile just in case,I know a few guys that called it quits only to be back in their own seat 6 months later. I will say if you are hauling used cars,it can be a real PITA.20 years ago,one of the brothers that owned the local Dodge dealer went out on his own and started an auto auction.First thing he did was buy a transport to pick up and deliver.About 2 months later,he was calling me to fill in on nights I was home and on weekends cause he couldn't find any good drivers.I found out why, nobody was ever around to help load or unload, cars wouldn't start, flat tires, had one on top front once that wouldn't shift into reverse.Had a T bird with screwed up steering I about put over the side.Lotta city work which I hate, loading in the middle of the street, bought got run over chaining down once.Last straw was when I got an ass chewing because the POS Nissan I had on the top deck leaked oil all over the white El Dorado on bottom.I suppose if you grew up in the business and that's all you knew,it would be OK,but I'll take hauling pigs any day.
  11. I just got one hell of an idea if I ever did move.Get a bunch of trucks lined up to help, get Bruno to run lead, hire a film crew and make "Convoy-the Sequel".
  12. Maybe I should just load everything up and move east, sounds like I could get plenty of help, and there's alot more shows out that way.
  13. That's definately a cobbled up intake set up.By '81,they used a single intake.I don't think I have any good pics, but the filter canister would be mounted upright, like on a R model, with the intake stack mounted on top.
  14. Go with the 400 mechanical. If you are using a Mack transmission,(T2130 & T2180)the 13 and 18 speeds are the same transmission, only difference is the shift knob.13 speed knob has a block to keep from splitting while in low range.
  15. Dad's '72 F795 had the dark green,fully upholstered interior.Big step up from his '66 Crackerbox GMC.
  16. I wish you lived closer,Vinny,I could use an extra helper.I have a feeling I know which of my trucks would get the most attention.
  17. The weight difference between tube and tubeless would be almost unnoticable.
  18. If I would have known Calvin was selling it,Jack wouldn't have ended up with it.I don't know how long Jack had it,but it wasn't very long,as he had it for sale again at the next Walcott show.By then it was priced out of my league.
  19. Calvin had a beautiful truck, too bad he got bit by the red oval bug and sold it.Jerry Howard owns it now and I'm sure it's still in as nice of condition as when Calvin had it.It has a 300 Maxidyne, backed by a Quad, and an air tag axle.He fitted the B75 radiator and had a hood built to fit.Calvin is a super guy, definately one of a kind.
  20. I haven't got much history on either, except for what I posted about the maroon one in my other post. The green cab I got from Calvin Cochran, and he told me had had bought it from someone local to him in Crawfordsville,IN.Someday I'll get enough money saved up and I'll send a bunch of my VIN #'s to the museum to get more info,They'd be able to build on a new wing if I sent all of them in.
  21. Nope,no perogies, but for some dumb reason they do have fried chicken.
  22. At least this time I didn't have to dry off first.
  23. Took her mind off it for a little while. When we walked out, a small crowd had gathered around the old B so it took an extra half hour to get out of the parking lot,she was kinda miffed again, but by the time we got home, all was cool. She never gets mad for too long, mainly cause after 25 years, she knows it don't do much good.
  24. hi Bob, I still have both of my LJSWX's.Unfortunately, the green & yellow one went from being a restorable, running truck that needed a cut off(it was cut in 2 when I bought it.)to strictly a parts donor thanks to thieves and vandals. The radiator was stolen, all glass broken, copper stripped, hole knocked in oilpan. Here is a pic of it before it was vandalized. It has a 220 Cummins that was a good runner, with a Duplex. I don't have pics of the other LJSWX in my computer,it's a long wheelbase chassis, originally gas powered,it now has a 711,Duplex,and 4 speed Brownie. The cab was rusted beyond repair and was removed before I got it.Luckily,it has a good radiator and soeday I'll combine the 2 and make one whole truck.
