  1. code 3-2 is engine speed sensor,3-4 is engine postion sensor. If you got owners manuals with the trucks you bought, there should be a code list in the back.I had the Mack dealer run off a sheet for me,so whenever Mikey would get a code flash on the Vision,I could tell him what was wrong.
  2. That was David McNeill's place. He's an ATHS regional vp, and one super nice guy.
  3. I'd paint them to match your B model.
  4. That's just what they were.Serial #'s LR1S1484D & LR1S1489D,NHB Cummins powered,14:00x24 rubber.Auction is 2-24-12 in Phoenix,AZ.There's 50+ pics of each one one the website.
  5. They'd make a good addtion to the Gerhart collection, don't you think?
  6. 20 tons legally in a tandem dump??????What are your weight laws down there?Up here we can only gross 54,000 on a tandem, and that's only if you are long enough to bridge it.A tandem DM with a 15 ft. box up here would be lucky to net 15 tons legally.
  7. There were several pics of that Superliner in the listing,I was really surprised how good of shape it was in for that old of a dump truck. It would be a real rare one if it still had the 866 V8 in it.It sells on an auction in B.C.,Canada.
  8. Just had this replaced on the Rawhide my son drives,it had got to the point where it was leaking pretty bad(3 to 4 gal. between oil changes).$940 parts & labor, mostly labor, thought that was kinda steep myself.
  9. Got my monthly notice from RB Auctions today.I know there usually ain't too many bargains at their auctions ,but there are some pretty neat pieces listed. '74 RS767 water truck a pair of LR dump trucks Really clean '78 RWL797 Superliner, repowered by a E9440 there was also a RL797 tractor and a '80 RWS766 Superliner listed, but no pics yet.
  10. The old F models hand the manual hand lever parking brake mounted on the dash, next to the steering wheel. It was placed there so your hand would hit the lever when applied, therefore you wouldn't drive with it on.The truck tractor protection valve was to the right of the drivers seat, right where the doghouse met the sleeper. My younger brother(he was 4 or 5 at the time) was riding with my Grandpa in his '68 F785 one day.He woke up in the sleeper and went to sit right at the edge of the bunk next to Grandpa and hit the TTP switch with his foot.Brought them to a pretty quick stop. The TTP switch in a F was mounted up & down, not side to side like on a B model. The cab release latch looked just like a brake lever and was mounted a the back of the doghouse. There was also a safety catch you had to pull before the cab would tilt.On the sleeper cabs,it was a cable pull, inside the right door, right next to the tool compartent pull cable, day cabs had a metal rod at back of the cab. Those old cabs tilted pretty easy as long as the torsion bar was in good shape.
  11. That is one sweet F model. No rust,335 Cummins, budd wheels, that thing has tons of potential.
  12. I've got a Unishift out of a H67.All I can tell you about it is that the truck had been parked in a barn for 25+ years. My buddy didn't want to mess with even trying to see if it would still work,so we swapped in a Duplex I had out of another H67.I also have a couple Duplexes in the barn.If Iowa isn't too far for you, contact me.
  13. Needing two box sleepers moved from NY back west.Rob is near Peoria and I'm just an hour south of I-80,both could be picked up at the same location.
  14. That might be your problem,Al.The E9's I've been around have 2 plugs, one for each heater.
  15. I'd take that for mine,it's still full with the seal intact.Wonder how good 37 yr. old Wild Turkey would taste?
  16. Can anyone shed any light on the following engine and transmission numbers 239G B5485 284K B5178
  17. No,it has a 13 speed double over Fuller,the 2090 is in my '87 Liberty.
  18. Suppose these 2 have been circling the auction circuit for awhile???That's kinda scary.
  19. You could buy complete rebuilt engines, ready to drop in the truck. For awhile Mack even offered glider kits with rebuilt engines installed ,you just had to provide transmission and rear ends, they called them Power Gliders or something like that.Gray would have been the right color for '86.
  20. Guess I should have been more clear, they don't fit to snug on a steel budd wheel,as they were made for dayton wheels.
  21. If it was mine,I'd pull the injectors and start soaking it with some sort of penetrent.Everybody has a different favorite it seems, straight diesel fuel, diesel and ATF,Kroil is good.Let it soak good then see what happens.
  22. I'm totally against heavier and longer trucks. It will be just like when we went from 73,280 to 80,000.Haul more freight for the same rate,or in some cases less.
  23. the old Thermodynes were a light grayish blue color.
  24. '75 would have been gold on both,if your motor is gray,it's probably a newer engine as they went to gray in later years, or was repainted after a rebuild.
