  1. Go to the grocery story and get a couple boxes of popsicles. It's a little known fact that popsicle sticks have the same tensile strength as Peterbilt frame rails.
  2. For one thing the hoses are alot smaller, almost like heater hose. There is a restriction plate in the radiator also,so I'm told.I'm taking the radiator out of a E9 powered truck to replace mine when I make the conversion.
  3. The radiator won't work, the lo-flo radiator is a completely different animal.I run a Big Cam IV everyday in my Superliner, and I've been fighting cooling issues since I got it.I just got ahold of a Big Cam III with a bad crank and I'm going to swap everything over on the cooling system,I'm told this will cure my problem.Otherwise it will fit fine physically,855 Cummins engine have been swapped into B73/75's alot. You'll want to go with a different trans.
  4. Western R models came in both the 600 standard hood and 700 long hood.RL's had aluminum frames,RS's had steel frames,They were built from 1966 to 1981 in Hayward,CA.In 1978 the RL/RS600's were badged as Value-Liners and the RL/RS700's were discontinued and replaced by the Super-Liner.The RL/RS600 Value-Liners stayed in production at Macungie,PA from '81 up til '90 I believe.
  5. Most would say scrap price, and basically that's true. But a wise man would set them aside out of the way and save them.At the sickening rate old trucks have been scrapped as of late, those old junkers will look pretty good to someone looking for parts or projects in the near future.
  6. I'll definately get some pics when I go back.It did come from Colorado. The headlights are in the bumper and blanked out where they would normally be.Has a custom built for UPS tag on the dash.Trying to convince him it would look real good at my place.
  7. Took a truck over to a friend's place today so he could rob some parts & got to check out a couple of trucks I didn't know he had,a N85F,one of 5 built and a former UPS MH6122 four wheel drive tractor.Bout got a nosebleed climbing up into the MH,it's 2 steps taller than a regular one.I'll be sure and take my camera when I go back.
  8. The door should open from the inside just by pulling out on the handle,if not something is screwed up inside. That's how those door handles work on the MH,push in to lock from inside, pull out to unlock from inside.
  9. Do you ever haul cattle into the US?I used to see alot of Canadian trucks at the Tyson plant in Joslin,IL.
  10. I've never had a Wilson dropdeck or flat except for an old '64 outside rail, but they make the best livestock & grain trailers available in my opinion.
  11. You can not use hub pilot wheels on your truck, not even as inside wheels on the rear, you have to have stud piloted wheels.
  12. a SF3 Stromberg would be one that would fit.
  13. The way it was explained to me,under the new, modern & "improved" numbering system,a "690" was a Maxidyne engine, and a "688" was an Econodyne engine.Evidently the Maxi-Cruise engines are in the Maxidyne family.
  14. The EE is a 1 1/2 ton truck. That one looks pretty solid, been for sale quite awhile. I'll bet you could buy it right.I'm not a GM fan but the 350 is pretty easy&cheap to get parts for.
  15. Welcome to the world of owning a truck..I swear it would cost $1million to build a truck over the parts counter.Start saving your pop cans if you want any extras, cause your going to need everything you make to keep fuel in the tanks & the bank happy for awhile.
  16. Don't know about the pickup deal, but the Mack B475 firetruck was built on a Dodge chassis, with a Hemi engine.
  17. looks like someone put a B shell on it ,I've seen that done before.
  18. That is a grille emblem for the WL/WS Cruiseliner cabover, made in Hayward,CA.They used it for the first couple years of production,75 to 76.It was the only truck this emblem was ever used on.
  19. good luck with the MH,but you are going to hate those fenders.
  20. Ones from a B-8o series are the same, also.I was missing one on my B83 and found a replacement on a steel nose DM front that I had.
  21. I've heard nothing yet,and though I think they might try,I can't think it would pass.Too many farm trucks that would fall into this category.Only thing they might do is give farmers an exemption and if that happens,I'm getting my truck re-lettered with "Mike Harbison Farms" because it will be a cold day in hell before I quit running my old trucks for revenue.
