  1. Just curious,do they have a different numbering system for the Aussie built trucks???Up here, the "26"would mean it had a 6V92 Detroit Diesel in it.A 400 Cummins would be "66".
  2. That one of Doug was one of 8 with square side windows. The earlier ones has triangular side windows that rolled down, then they went to a side vent.

  9. Easiest way I've found is to unhook the steering linkage from the gearbox, unbolt it from the frame and pull it out in one piece.Alot times the steering wheel is a pain in the ass to pull, plus you have to lift the cab high enough to clear the steering column, this elimnates both problems.
  10. Stick a 5th wheel on the end of the frame, last I knew there was no overall length limit on tractors.
  11. Damn,I sold my '01 Vision too cheap.
  12. I don't think I've ever seen a 5 spoke Mack front hub.

    Parts B61:

I'll have to do some digging, but I have a 5 gallon bucket full of tow hooks in one of my trailers. If you can be patient,I'll see if I can find them.

The same guy has this 1973 "Super R" for sale,$5000 obo.I'd sure like to see better pics, because he used the old R model cab.
  15. Air drier placement was optional, usually left up to the owner or installer. Most common I've found is behind left fuel tank outside of frame. The cartridge comes out the bottom,so the sleeper does not interfere with changing.Inside the frame on the right side is also a common spot, usually toward the end of the fuel tank.

  18. I'd sure like to know the story on those F's.Looks like they were for the most part all later '70s,and if they been there all this time, musta been low mileage trucks when parked.Only saw one that looked to be '60's vintage.
  19. The shifter knob on the 13 speeds has a pin that blocks the splitter while in low range, that's the difference.
  20. Nice write up,but there are a few misrepresentations. There is at least one other H60, & there's more than 2 W-71's still around.I'm betting there's more Mack Jr's still around than stated also.
  21. Sorry to hear about your little wreck, but I'd say you done real good on the Superliner. It should dress up real nice. You didn't happen to look over the Western F that was advertised from the same place, did you? Why in the hell is this thing underlining???????
  22. your right,I was thinking,a single axle would be a 4,not a 6.
  23. That would be a fairly rare U ,if the 903 is factory.I've only seen one other.
  24. Very interesting.I'd sure like to know the VIN #.Theoretically it should be a RS6116.A truck from the days when Mack built trucks that the customer spec'd the exact way they wanted, not like today when you pick a predetermined "package".
  25. definately case of New PACCAR Syndrome if you ask me
