One more bit of info for you,yours was built with a gas engine.If it had been a diesel,there would be a D at the end of the VIN#.As yours reads now, "LJ" is the model,"2D" means 2 drive axles,"X" means heavy duty,and the 5355 of course is the chassis #.

Here's a pic of one of my LJSWX's to show what your fenders and radiator should look like.After looking at mine,I'd guess your hood is the correct one.

Sweet truck,I like it.The LJSWX production ended in '56 with the introduction of the B-80 series,but it could be very possible for yours to be titled a '57.Your's has had a little creative"cosmetic surgery"sometime in it's life,but it looks very well done,and it were mine,I'd leave it that way just for the conversation value.The radiator shell is from an Autocar,radiator probably is too,because the heavy duty LJSWX had a cast iron external radiator.The hood may also be Autocar and the fenders are either Autocar or homemade.

I realize my love for old Macks often clouds my judgement,but $7900 for this truck is a steal in my opinion.If I had the extra funds at this time,I would have hit the "buy it now" in a heartbeat.Don't get me wrong,nobody likes a bargain better than me,but let's consider what we have here.It's not a B-61 or old R model they made boatloads of,it's an LT,2009 made from '47 to '56,and it's an early LT at that.Original components,unmolested,a real survivor.Try to find one of those early LT louvred hoods.My LT is the first one built,but no where near as original as this one,as it has been wrecked,rebuilt and repowered over it's working life,and there's no way I'd take that price for mine.

I called about that one a year or so back,told them it wasn't an H model,and that I wanted to buy the whole thing but they didn't seem like they wanted to sell it whole.Said they'd get back to me and never did.

While I agree,a Volvo engine would not have been my 1st,2nd or even 3rd choice at a repower for this old LF,at least someone thought enough of it to repower it from it original gas engine and keep it working.No need picking apart the seller ,at least he's trying to find it a home instead of sending it to the shredder.

too bad your boss didn't get you a 505 hp MP8,then you coulda had power,fuel mileage and you could hold your head up instead of wearing a paper bag.
