  1. It's for sale if you know of anybody looking,terry.,has a really strong 290 Cummins,and a 8LL. He's asking $3500.
  2. no,I still have my 750 Holmes R model. the one they are putting on the CH is coming off this White that they are retiring.
  3. You can't really tell from the angle of this pic,but t he box is too short for the truck, there's about a 3 ft. gap between the bed and cab, makes it look goofy I think.. It does work good though,Mikey has hauled a few loads of rock and also hauled several loads of brush and limbs after a big wind storm.
  4. Good job finding those,I looked but didn't have any luck. There was the diamond T,a H model Ford, a '40 somethinng KW and a '40 something Pete also.
  5. If he likes.I'm ok with that,he fixed the truck up nice and will take care of it,that's what matters to me.. I coulda sold it for more money and had it exported,or turned into a shit tanker, but then I wouldn't be posting pics of it ever again.
  6. did a little digging and found this Evidently this truck is now owned by Don Robertson and displayed at his Gold King Mine museum at Jerome.AZ. It's been painted blue since I last saw it.
  7. what are you missing? I have a few HB600 parts from a '40's Federal a friend of mine had. I think theres a head,some rocker box parts,and a piston or 2.
  8. Very interesting. How many remember when Cummins did it's search for the oldest Cummins engine still in use? I think it was in conjunction with their 50th anniversary. Oldest found was a HB in a cobbled up old Diamond T used as a spotter,I can't remember the year, but I'm sure it was a HB400 4 cylinder. They ran a number of ads following the search and spotlighted the finalists,an AC Mack made the finals,as well as a Freightliner bubblenose that had survived Mt. St. Helens. The winner went on tour and was displayed at several trade shows,I got to see it at the Walcott Iowa 80 show.
  9. This is what the R model is replacing. The CH is getting fitted with a 750 Holmes wrecker unit.
  10. Just got this pic from my friend TJ,the '87 R model getting ready for it's 1st run.
  11. Key word here is IF . I'm just going by what I can see,but IF it is as solid as it looks in the pics, and IF it runs,he's not that out of line on price in my opinion. Turbo engine and Quad is a big plus, aluminum tanks, looks like the hood is nice, and any of us that owns 70 series B models know how hard it is to find one with a good hood, radiator and shutters look nice, those are high dollar to come up with. A b61 in similar shape would be a solid $4500 to 5000 truck and we know how many 61's they made, only 1619 B75's .IF it was mine I wouldn't take any less than $6k for it,IF it is as good as decribed
  12. My Grandpa always told me the same thing. Half the fun of buying something is negotiating.
  13. Anybody know this truck? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1953-Mack-LT-/331773481372?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
  14. Yeah, there was RL,RS,MB,F,FL,FS,U,R,DM. I had someone call looking for one and it stumped me,we never had any RD's around here until the later '70's after they quit the emblems, all the dumptruckers ran DM's
  15. Back in the day all the Macks had the model emblem on the cab,R600,U600,DM600,etc.,was there a RD600 emblem also? I know I've never seen one .
  16. yes it is,Al.It's a pretty sweet little truck.
  17. It's rare enough I couldn't find a left side end for it,so it's no longer on there. Luckily Mikey's red Superliner came with a Valueliner chrome bumper on it,we put it on there now, going to get the hood painted next.
  18. Thanks Glenn. I never knew what they were officially called, all I knew was the h.p..When I was building my 1st B model, the local dealer had purchased 4 or 5 old Garrett Freight MB611 tractors to part out,and the owner told me they were 225 hp. I almost got one of the engines, but they were mounted at a slant and would have had to change some stuff to make it work in the B. I ended up finding a parts B with a good engine.
  19. that's the way they came, the grill densor was the center of the grille and the surround was muti-piece
  20. There was a 225 hp version too,but it may have been just a derated ENDT673C.
  21. Here's a Western with the grille densor, '78 was the 1st year for them I think.
  22. I've seen the grille densors on Ebay,priced reasonably,too.
  23. KW drivers have to photoshop, here is the real deal. '65 B61 with '46 LaCrosse 25 ton trailer, Cat D7,was supposed to weigh around 53000# as set up.
