  1. Here's another for the registry,Andy.Just a door tag, unfortunately truck was scrapped.(Not by me) EHU IS 1651 This is the first time I've seen the letter "I" in a early Mack serial #.I'm wondering if it was a misprint and supposed to have been a 1.It is clearly stamped so there's no mistaking it for anything else.
  2. The early L cab B's were that way,I'm not 100% certain what year they went to the standard green as in the B cabs.
  3. Looks like you have a really nice survivor, good luck with it. The EF was the second most popular of the E series with 13,783 built from 1938 to 1951.John Chalmers in PA used to have alot of NOS E model stuff. He'd be a good one to check with for any small parts.
  4. 17.5 rims(tubeless version of 15") will fit on 15" hubs,but I doubt 14.5 will.
  5. I've got a 1985 MH613 I'd trade you for the H-67,it has a E6-300.9 speed Fuller,Eaton rears on Reyco.
  6. I gotta agree with checking your front tires for one being out of round or a belt breaking, just went thru the very same thing with our '01 Vision.Tire looked fine, only 16k on them.
  7. you'd be way better off to keep the R model for that kind of work in my opinion
  8. Don't worry,if I can get it figured out,you can.(Helps to have an 11 yr.old to help though,believe me)
  9. Only difference on the older style metal dash, torsion bar cabs is the grille, emblems, guages and upholstery.I think the dash is a little different on the later ones.
  10. Glad to hear you got it running,Ernie. Did you ever find aluminum doors for it?
  11. I realize I ain't been around as much as some others, but I've only ever seen documented proof of 4 RL/RS771's still around,a blue day cab that's been restored in NY,the green one you bought, plus the repowered black one from the same guy,and the one you just looked at.I can find no proof of any east coast R-700's ever built with 12V71 engines.
  12. You got to remember, you stole the first one, this one here would make them average out.
  13. your truck was originally a firetruck, they used numbers instead of letters.
  14. There was one for sale on Ebay awhile back ,truck was located in or near Mt.Sterling,IL.It never met reserve, but I don't know how you'd go about searching for it.That's the only B57 I've seen up for sale for a long, long time.
  15. Trying to make some room and thin the herd a little.Need to find homes for the following restorable antique trailers.Pics available to SERIOUS buyers. 1948 Gramm single axle van trailer-$1000 1953 LaCrosse 20 ton tandem axle lowboy, set up for single axle tractor-$1250 1960 McDowell tandem axle grain trailer-$800 1960 Dorsey tandem axle grain trailer-$800 1961 American outside rail flatbed.-$1200 Email me for more info or pics. macksrus@mepotelco.net
  16. good looking F model, hard to find one that isn't rusty.
  17. Pretty sure Jack Sharkey still owns Quincy Mack Sales, also.
  18. Find yourself a copy of the book,Bulldog by John Montville,a must have for any AC owner. There are some excellent blueprint type illustrations that may help you.
  19. 10R22.5 is the tubeless equivelent of the 9:00R20,but unless you are going to be hauling loads with this truck or running up and down the highway everyday,I sure wouldn't worry about those weather checked tires unless they were on the steer axle, but that's just my cheap ass opinion.I've wore tires out on trailers that looked worse than yours.
  20. If someone needs a good MH,this would be it.I've known these guys along time and they take excellent care of their trucks.
  21. I've got one that was pulled out of a H-67.Truck sat for about 25 years,we never tried it,for fear of alot of hassle with all the air controls from it sitting, replaced it with a 2 stick duplex.I wouldn't be afraid to use it for parts.Let me know if you are interested.I'm in Iowa.
