  1. He got the motor pulled and has been working on getting it tore down, but I've been keeping him pretty busy trucking,so progress has been slow. Let's see some pics of your brother's F model. The guy I got this Superliner from had just scrapped a '73 FL795.I about cried when he told me about it.
  2. Mike's working fleet of B models are truly a beautiful sight. He's had his B-67 rollback truck here a couple times picking up parts,it is cute as hell. He's got a couple nice Superliners too.
  3. Brought this old girl home today.1982 RWS788LST,early tip turbine E6-350,Dynatard,TRDL1070 splitter 10 speed,4:42 rears on Neway,212" wheelbase,11R24.5 budds.Been sitting a little over 3 years, put 2 batteries in and it fired right up,then spent the next 2 hours getting the brakes broke free.Runs and drives great, made the trip home in fine shape.
  4. Good job saving the G.Seems like I've seen pics of that truck somewhere before.
  5. TR - Transmission T - Triplex(a 12 speed is considered a triplex transmission because of the 3 splits available,lo-lo,direct & hi X - Heavy duty L - lightweight(aluminum case) 107 - series number for the Maxitorque 5 speed main box 0 - Overdrive B - 2nd series of this transmission,lo-lo is air shifted instead of a second stick. Watch Ebay, the big green Mack Highway service manuals covers several different transmissions, plus alot of other good info,if not,any dealer should be able to get you one.
  6. I was going off info from the build records on Mack's website, but I guess with Volvo being in charge, and by the number of typos in every Bulldog magazine, that info could be wrong.
  7. 1) 1983,Cat 3406 400 to 425 hp 2)1981,350 hp was only one shown 3)don't know 4)1987 5)1990,several engines available 300,300+,350 Mack,E9 V8,Cat 3406,Cummins 350&400
  8. You'd better take another look.Looks like B-21/B-71 sheet metal to me.
  9. somewhere I've seen pics of a USN B70 that had B71 sheet metal, makes me wonder if it might have been Hall-Scott powered like the B-21 fire trucks.
  10. We always put the liners in the deep freeze before installing them.
  11. It does get a bit confusing, especially if you try to go by truck trader ads, alot of typos and misinformation there. To decipher the list in your post, the following are the later Superliner II,built from 85 to 93. RW613 RW713-These 2 were Mack powered, either 6 or V8,613 was standard frame,713 was the heavier duty model. RW733-heavy frame,Cummins power RW753,heavy frame,Cat power the rest in your list are Superliner I built from 78 to 85 712-300+ Mack power 766- 400 Cummins power 770- 8V92 Detroit power 754 - 3406 Cat power 788 - 350 Mack power
  12. Really nice looking R795 you got there, congratulations.
  13. Actually,he's a pretty good guy,a very straight shooter, but definately not tolerant of "tire kickers".He bought the truck to fix up and use,but his plans got changed. It's a really straight truck, originally a lowboy tractor with a winch and very heavy duty,ASF double oscilating 5th wheel. The winch was long gone, but I am getting the 5th wheel. My plans are to install the twin turbo ENDT864 I've got in it to make it back into a true R719.
  14. A barn find in central Iowa.1968 R719ST,no rust, repowered by a 237 Maxidyne,18 speed quad,double frame,44,000# rears,6:34 gears.
  15. RW is the letter desigination for the Superliner S is for steel frame 7 is kinda generic as all first generation Superliners were 700's,originally this was the designation for long hood. 21 is the code for the E9-400 L-lightweight (aluminum components, fuel tanks, transmission case, rear end carriers, etc. S - six wheel chassis(twin screw) T - tractor
  16. Saw those same pics sometime back, can't remember if it was in here or on ATHS.
  17. That's what I was told today.Cummins powered baby Granite.
  18. Great find.I'd bet there aren't a dozen of the early Cherry Picker H's left around. They only made a few hundred to start with.A friend of mine in Wisconsin has a H-60 with the original gas engine.
  19. I'm like Randy, been using Lucas in everything I run for past 12 years.
  20. Contact the Mack Museum, that would be your best bet on verifying the year. A B-613 would have had a ENDT-673 turbocharged engine rated at 205 hp.
  21. Been trying to buy this truck for a few years, heard a rumor it had been hauled to scrap,so I took a little drive today to check on it.Still there and still not for sale.
  22. Just tell her what I tell my wife."it's all deductible"
