  1. Try NAPA.They usually carry several types of weatherseal.
  2. The gold Bulldogs first appeared in 1966 on all Maxidyne powered trucks.Maxidyne engines were painted gold.In '79 EPA issues forced Mack to quit using the gold paint. The Bulldogs remained gold until early '81,when they returned to chrome.About the same time, the ears and tail were bobbed because someone caught their ring on the dogs ear tilting a hood, resulting in a lawsuit. The gold Bulldog returned on the CL Elite in '93 or so,and then in '95 they started putting the gold dog on all purebred Macks.
  3. Did you by any chance buy that CL that was in Galva,IL?
  4. My LT originally had a Hall Scott,it was replaced by a Cummins.
  5. If you are close to Iowa, you are more than welcome to come take pics and measurements from my MB's.
  6. AD-2 ,I think.
  7. Here's a pic of the truck I test drove at H&L Mack.
  8. You used to be able to get + ground AM radios, and the older CB's you could just reverse the wires, can't do that with the newer ones.I had an inverter in my '76 F model, but it went bad, found it was cheaper just to convert truck to - ground.
  9. The tour was at my local dealer,H&L Mack Truck Sales, yesterday. There were 2 trucks,a Pinnacle sleeper with a MP8 485 h.p. pulling a loaded 53' van and a day cab with a MP7 395 h.p. pulling a empty tanker.I drove the MP8,it was OK but I'd have liked it better with a 13 or 18 speed, instead of the 10 it had.I'd like to hook one up to a loaded bullrack to see what it would really do,hard to judge anything with a dry box only grossing 70k. Got a new hat and free donuts.
  10. That's a Clariben hood on that B-613.Clariben made aftermarket hoods for several different trucks. They were still advertising hoods for B-models in the early '80's but I've not heard much about the company in several years, don't know if they are still in business or not.
  11. It would be damn hard to replace a truck that nice.I'm betting you'd regret it for the rest of your life if you sold it.
  12. I'd sure hope it would get 7 mpg or better,I'm getting 6mpg pulling a 53' 102" bullrack,grossing 80k plus,with my '99 CH613.It has the E7427 Etech engine,13 speed,and 3:70 rears on low pro 24.5's.I get 6.5 to 7 pulling a hopper.
  13. I don't think they did too bad, considering some of the God-awful things they've done to other trucks.Although, really,I think it looked pretty good before, just needed a good clean up.
  14. Thanks for posting that pic Terry,I tried last night and couldn't get the pic to load. That's my '59 N61, serial # N61T1314.It has a END673 and 15 speed Triplex.
  15. Yes,for the 300+.
  16. A V12 powered R model would have been a R771.Near as I know, none were ever built, only Western RL and RS models were available with V12's.
  17. The sleeper is in Glencoe,MN and I'm in Morning Sun,IA. You wouldn't happen to be coming down to the Walcott I80 show next week would you?
  18. Just bought a 36" Able sleeper west of the Twin Cities, needs a ride to SE Iowa.
  19. 1 AC,1 AB,1 BF,1 BG,1 BX,1 EF,1 EG,1 EGU,4 EH's,1 EHU,3 EQ's,1 EQU,2 A50's,4 A54's,2 LF's,6 LJ's,1 LT,1 W71,1 N61,3 G's,1 H67,about 60 B models,3 FS's,10 F's,2 U's,2 C600's,1 21LS,2 MB's,1 MC,1 RS,1 RL,7 R's,4 Superliners,2 Cruiseliners,3 MH's,and 1 CH.Somewhere close to 140 total.
  20. The last B model was a B57 tri-drive,and was somewhere in Ohio last I knew. They had it for sale a few years ago for $20,000.
  21. Need to find a carburator for this ex-fire truck. It has a big Hall Scott engine.either a 855 or 935 CID.Just came out of 25 year hibernation,30600 miles.Anyone know any history on the Type 21 fire trucks?I'm guessing they were built for military use.
  22. the 460XT was a 490 hp version of the E7460.
  23. The hood scoop was used for the extra air inlet needed for the tip turbine on the 300 series Maxidynes. This was later replaced by a dual element air cleaner.
  24. The gold Bulldog was part of the "Elite" package, first time it was brought back since they quit putting them on Maxidyne powered Macks in '81.In '95 gold Bulldogs returned on all Mack component Mack's.
  25. on the first generation Superliners, the frame is the same as the Cruiseliner. The Superliner II RW600 and the MH600 have the same frame. The RW700 was different.
