  1. That hood on Ebay fits a L cab B model and will not work for the standard cab. I was bidding on it for my B73 and was outbid by the guy that has it for sale.He has another guy list items for him then he plugs the bids under his own Ebay ID.I've watched their auctions for a long time, usually ever truck he lists has a pretty high Buy it Now price. Then if it gets some real bids,he'll start plugging. Most of the time they fall short of the reserve with his bid the final one.
  2. Terry, see if you can find that email I sent you awhile back and forward it to him,I'm sure I listed all the V8 stuff in it.If not,I'll type it all out again.
  3. Merry Christmas from Newport,Iowa
  4. Just wondered if you could fill me in on why every new truck shipment my local dealer has gotten in for the past several months are being hauled by Volvos.Used to look forward to driving by and seeing a stack of new trucks coming in,now it makes me wanna puke. Sure wish they'd let the dealers pick up their own new trucks again. My Grandpa used to do this for our local dealer all the time.He made several trips to Allentown,3 or 4 trips to Hayward, and a couple trips to New York to pick up trucks from the Oakville plant.
  5. if it is a 711,it's newer than a '58,they came out in '62.711's were mostly natural aspirated engines, but turbo's were added to some. The numbers on a 711 were stamped in the same location as a 673,on the timing cover for conventionals, back side for COE's.
  6. a 866B is a 375 hp Thermodyne V8 with a Dynatard engine brake
  7. 88 meant it had a 350 engine,90 started out as the code for the 275 hp E6,but soon became a generic code for the E7 near as I can decipher.
  8. If your going to switch, switch everything. The 10 speed behing the Scania is most likely a small one, like a RT610 and won't be heavy enough to hold up behind the 237,and the rear end will be to slow.If you want more gears and speed, find a RTO9513 trans. for it.These are old enough you can get them pretty cheap, and would hold up behind a 237 pretty good,it will give you a little better lo gear, plus overdrive.but if your happy with 58 mph or so,the 5 speed will serve you well in a small dump truck.
  9. I'd say roughly a '64,maybe '65
  10. alot of 711's had head gasket trouble,I've ran 2,and they both gave no problems.I think alot of it depended on how much fuel you were pouring to them.
  11. I'd definately say it's a replacement engine, but I've never went looking for a date code on the block,so I can't tell you for sure where to look.I'd think there would be one somewhere, they have the build date cast into the rear end carriers, sure ought to have it cast into the engine block, too. That number stamped after END673 is the serial #,maybe a dealer could look it up.
  12. Friend of mine has a '85 Superliner E9 V8 that had a similar problem recently.Ended up that one of his fuel lines was collapsing.
  13. Does it have the water cooled intercooler??
  14. Andy,I'll get all the serial #'s rounded up and email them to you.I have 1 EF,1 EG,3 or 4 EH's,2 EQ's,1 EGU,1 EHU,and 1 EQU
  15. Far as I know, all Mack engine hp ratings were to the ground. Those 300+ 's were a hell of a engine. There was a guy in town that had one in a '78 Cruiseliner that dyno'd at 365hp.Always wanted to dyno the E6350 in my '87 Liberty Superliner to see what it will do.
  16. All the 673 engines were Thermodynes, they started out at 170 hp and made it to 190 hp. for the non turbo ones, and 205,225 and 250 for the turbo'd.The only 673 to have an aftercooler/tip turbine set up was the ETAZ673,known as the 300 plus that came out in '75,rated at 315 hp. The 675(237hp) and 676(283hp) were Maxidynes. The 676 was known as the 300 series, introduced in '73 with the aftercooler and tip turbine set up. There was also a 678,which was the first 350 hp,it also used the aftercooler/tip turbine was came out in 1980.
  17. They started calling them E6's sometime in the early '80's,and still offered the ENDT675 and ENDT673C as the E6-237 and the E6-250. They were still using the old numbers for the factory reman engines, the '66 R609 I bought last month has a '86 "Pedigree Rebuilt" ENDT673C in it.
  18. Let me know when you get the E model registry started,Andy.I have quite a few E's.
  19. Does it still have the 865 V8 in it?
  20. After being sold in 1996,this 1985 Superliner that my Dad ordered new is now back home. Not quite as cherry as when Dad sold it,but nothing alot of TLC and a new paint job can't fix.
  21. Guess UPS wasn't always against having the Bulldog and nameplates on their Macks.
  22. This truck and the Roadway H63 are owned by the same man,Harry M.(I ain't even gonna try to spell his last name). He used to own Jevic Transportation. The H67 is now painted dark blue.He also has a beautiful '62 F model painted in Jevic colors.
  23. Just picked this one up at the auction Friday.'66 R609LST,repowered in the '80's with a ENDT673C,15 speed Triplex, inverted Camelback suspension,Tulsa winch and rolling tail,300k miles, only 80k since the new engine.
